Sorry, way too many so-called conservatives want the feds to give them their way on issues, rather than federalism. I can believe these numbers. Easily. More is the pity.
Let’s just take abortion for one. I’ve had people here say the Constitution or the 14th Amendment already protect unborn persons. This is bunk. The federalist position, which Fred has adopted, is that abortion is a state issue, short of a change in our Constitution. I happen to agree with this approach. Plenty of social conservatives want their way and are willing to throw out the Constitution to get it.
I doubt it. My guess is, that about 85% of all voters, including Republicans, have no idea what federalism even is. They don't teach that in schools today. After all, it is part of the Constitution, which is EVIL according to today's educators.
Sounds like a crock but if indeed this is true, Thompson’s numbers will rise when more people find out his federalist stances.
I would sure like to see this happen. We have been hearing this from Fredheads for weeks and weeks and weeks. Well we have about five weeks left...still waiting.
