The chain reaction triggered by 1070 WIBCs impending move to 93.1 FM continues to shake up the Indianapolis market. In late October, Cumulus FM Talker 93.9 WWFT announced plans to drop its format in favor of Christmas music. That move occurred today.
However, WWFTs programming will continue on in the Indianapolis market as Pilgrim Communications southern rimshot Gold 95.9″ WIAU Franklin will drop its Oldies format on Monday to become WFDM Freedom 95.9. WFDM will feature all of the syndicated hosts that had been heard on WWFT: Mancow, Laura Ingraham, Dave Ramsey, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, and Mark Levin.
Thanks for the info!
Seconding the thanks for the news. Sounds like a good lineup on WIBC-FM. I hope we get an oldies station, a smooth-jazz station, and a music-of-your-life station in Indy.

I think if you’re looking for those formats you’ll have to crack open the wallet and get satellite radio.
Indy had a good smooth jazz station and it became teeny bopper drunk pop star Radio Now.
I know; it’s frustrating. I hope 93.9 turns into a good format after it gets done with the Christmas music.
My favorite Indy radio station is WICR, the University of Indianapolis station. Classical, jazz, some rock and eclectic.
Knowing who runs 93.9 (he used to run Q95 - says it all right there) I wouldn’t put it past him to try running Err Amerika and “progressive” talk just to say he countered against the talk on WIBC, WXNT, and that new one that picked up Hannity.
