Immigration out-paces British exodus
Telegraph ^ | 17/11/2007 | Philip Johnston

Britain is experiencing unprecedented levels of immigration with more than half a million foreigners arriving to live here in a single year, new figures show.

Last year, 510,000 foreign migrants came to the UK to stay for at least 12 months, according to the Office for National Statistics. At the same time 400,000 people, more than half of whom were British, emigrated.

The biggest influx was from the New Commonwealth - India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka - with more than 200,000 migrants.

Since Labour came to power in 1997, nearly four million foreign nationals have come to Britain and 1.6 million have left. Over the same period, 1.8 million Britons have left, but only 979,000 have returned.

More than 50 per cent of the British emigrants moved to just four countries in 2006 - Australia, New Zealand, France and Spain.

Yet despite high levels of emigration and a low birth rate, the population is still growing rapidly because of immigration by the equivalent to a city the size of Bristol every year.

This is placing huge pressures on public services, with councils claiming they are not getting enough financial help from the Government.

Over the past 20 years, the white British population has decreased slightly while the number of ethnic-minority Britons has doubled.

Little research has been done into the reasons for the current exodus of Britons...

Somehow I no longer think that there’ll always be an England.

The last big wave of emigration was seen in the late 1950s and early 1960s, when the "£10 Poms" left in their droves for Australia...

We have to take away their bombs or they will be another Pakistan. Fortunately, British scientific progress will regress after the complete take over, since these nation (minus India) love to let things decay... and decay... and decay...

So, ultimately, we may have to take over Europe... again...

I live in Plano Texas. Last night I went to a birthday party with my 7 year old son. The whole household was British. I went out after the party with these guys, I was the only American save one guys wife among probably 15 people. There are a ton of white Brits in north Dallas and they are not going back.

You don't know???

When Her Majesty sets up headquarters in Canada, you'll know it's time to turn off the lights.

Maybe we should just drop the first words from New England and Nova Scotia and the first two from New South Wales.

BTW, note tagline.

I think the key sentence is:

“1.8 million Britons have left, but only 979,000 have returned.”

So ‘only’ more than half that have left have come back!

So, in reality, 900,000 Brits have emigrated in a decade. That is 1.5% of the population over ten years. The Irish and Poles must be laughing at our concerns! In an age of globalised commerce, mass migration is the norm in lots of countries.

“This is placing huge pressures on public services, with councils claiming they are not getting enough financial help from the Government.”

I’m guessing, likely correctly, that in a majority of cases it is the worthy (educated, productive, & fed up) being replaced by the worthless.

I’ve said it before: The EU is a tower of babel and it will fall sooner or later. Saying you are the same as the United States and being the same (now of course they would say they are better)as the United States are two different things.

Yes, but is she a hot aloof, arrogant woman?

If not, then toss her into the pool.
