Rush's eBay Letter Gets Patriotic Venue
'One of the most valuable printed documents of the modern era' at Patrick Henry homestead
[clip]
A listener, identified as "Ted from Cleveland," asked [Bill Hemmer on Fox's "America's Newsroom"], "What happened with Rush Limbaugh's eBay sale of the Democratic letter from Harry Reid? Did he match the final purchase amount? Did he make a presentation?"
[clip]
To answer Ted from Cleveland, Hemmer invited Limbaugh to respond on the air.
"Well, let me tell you about the woman who was the high bidder on eBay. Her name was Betty Casey, and she's a philanthropist. She's a longtime listener to my radio program. We've not made the presentation of the letter to her yet because she's a widow. Her husband was a real estate developer, it turns out, in Maryland and Washington, and they own or she now owns Patrick Henry's original homestead. She's refurbishing it, and the Harry Reid smear letter is going to be presented there, and placed there when it gets ready.
"So we have it in a bank vault protecting it, making sure that nothing happens to it. The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation was the charity here, and they have received $4.2 million now from Betty Casey and from me. So it's a done deal. They have the money. We're just waiting for the work to get done at Patrick Henry's place to make the presentation."

It’s nice that this traitorous act could be turned into something wonderfully patriotic!
God bless Betty Casey and Rush Limbaugh!
DITTO.
I have yet to read of anyone of the 41 original signers of that ‘letter’ pony up and match funds as they were CHALLANGED PUBLICLY to do.
WE KNOW WHAT THAT MAKES THEM!!!!!!
Let me second that, God bless Betty Casey and Rush Limbaugh!
Mega dittoes!
BTTT
I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death. Patrick Henry, (Virginia Convention, March 23, 1775)
I guess Harry Reid will proudly proclaim that he is the modern John Hancock.
Didn't you hear the quote from Harry Reid before the Senate on Oct. ? They're taking credit for all the money raised!
In his version of the event, the $2.1 million bid was made because it was such a unique piece of Democratic Party memorabilia! Gosh! To have Reid's and Clinton's and Kennedy's and the other's autographs all on one page!!!
From Reid's POV, Betty Casey is just an autograph hound.
Height of Limbaughs’ career..Kudos to Casey..flew in for ‘Dans Bake sale’ in Colorado in the nineties to hear Limbaugh...better than on the radio..fun times.
For sure, Harry's a c...
Nope...not gonna do it...not gonna go there...wouldn't be prudent at this juncture...
I had the distinct pleasure of becoming a fourth time caller to Rush’s show yesterday. He is an absolute class act. The effort he puts forth in educating America is unmatched in today’s world. He like Patrick Henry is nothing less than a true patriot. Rush deserves the respect and support of every American. I for one hope he will have many more fundraising events in the future.
edit: ... the quote from Harry Reid before the Senate on Oct. 19?

Incredible, can you imagine what a warm, family friendly, Disney film this would make
Someone tried to silence the man who runs America? Silly RATS...
And it doesn't necessarily have to be money. For example Robert Byrd could put up on e-Bay a set of his KKK sheets and pointed hat to be auctioned off for the cause.
Obama could take an ink pad and a sheet of paper and auction off an imprint of one of his great big ears. Hillary might auction off the pieces of a broken Whitehouse ashtray or lamp she threw at Bill. Ted Kennedy could contribute a set of used rum flasks that he has swigged from. Boxer might offer up a few inches of facial skin left over from her latest facelift.
Plenty of opportunity here for those not wanting to part with cash.
BTTT
Present it around June/August timeframe..
