Mitt Romney called attempts to undermine him by questioning his Mormon faith "un-American" as he spoke to reporters in Nevada yesterday. Romney was specifically responding to reported "push-poll" phone calls being made in Iowa and New Hampshire, in which the calls reportedly begin as opinion polls but turn into statements and questions designed to highlight and cast doubt on Romney's Mormon faith. Folks, here are very good interviews by Hugh Hewitt of Charles Krauthammer (whom I really admire) and Larry Kudlow about these push polls which I feel is very worthwhile and hope will put this issue in a better perspective:

Please throw it up whenever you like, that is exactly what I had hoped for. You see, to normal people, an 18 year old male at college having his authority figure father indoctrinate a 15 year old is freaking abusive. I mean, remember the tizzy we all had when Bill Clinton was influencing a starry eyed 18 year old intern. So yes, please tell the whole world how great it is for a governor.presidential candidate to brainwash a 15 or 16 year old girl into being your sons baby factory, that will go over just great.

My point here is religious bigotry is unAmerican — our country was founded on religious freedom. These push polls are unacceptable, and I hope someone finds out who has done this.
If it's bigotry to ask questions of other religions, then I'm a bigot also. If it's bigotry to think that many religions are cults...then I guess I'm a bigot too.
Just to be clear....I don't condone the so-called "push-poll." I do want questions answered...and I think it's healthy. FWIW...it wouldn't surprise me if you are sorely disappointed and disillusioned...if/when you find out who created the push-poll.

I do not hate or act intolerant of either Satanists or you, and I’ve seen no evidence that GOP_Lady does either. I do think that both are wrong, and I will tell you so, and, given the opportunity, do what I can to persuade you otherwise.
You, on the other hand, have embraced intolerance sufficent that a good, qualified man is unfit in your eyes for political power specifically because of his religious beliefs. Your hatred of a few of those who hold these beliefs leads you to lie and distort about all of them in an attempt to tear them down (of which we’ve seen a number of examples on this thread alone). By the dictionary definition, these behaviors are bigotry.
