Mrs. Davis on the campaign trail referred to herself during one appearance as a RINO — a "Republican in Name Only." She voiced support for a moratorium on the death penalty and talked about giving homosexuals the legal benefits of marriage, And just WHO did she expect would vote for her?

With one exception (a State Senator) any Republican who ran on a strong anti-illegal alien platform won.
Even the Democrats were saying they were for tougher immigration laws at the end of the campaign.
