My whole extended family has been praying like crazy that this war would end successfully with Iraq free and pacified. I have prayed it every day I've been here. I've stood in my doorway listening to firefights and prayed it. I've heard countless bombs go off, both near (sometimes too near) and far and I've prayed it. I've seen some horrendous things that drove me to prayers for peace, for all of this to end in victory for us and for the Iraqis. And now, it appears to be happening.
My niece's husband just deployed in September, and so the war has an even more intense interest.
My deep gratitide to him for a job well done.
He is complaining that he can't find any action. We are just thankful.
Gotta love our troops. ;-)

Don't be too thankful. You can't leave an active military deployed for very long with nothing to do. They will get together and find something to do with their buddies. Like get into some sort of trouble.

Oh thank you, Lord. Tears. Just breathtakingly wonderful.
To see the Muslims sitting in a Catholic church, begging their Catholic countrymen to come back home .... it’s unbelievable.
God be with them all... God bless and protect our troops.
The American military is indescribably amazing .. God’s hand is truly miraculous. My heart sings with praise to Him.
Allegra .. I can’t imagine how full your heart is to see this. Prayers for your niece’s husband .. and for you. THANK YOU for being there and relating the hopeful progress you’ve seen.

Prayers for your nieces husband .. Actually, it's Tennessean4Bush's niece's husband who is here. I neglected to italicize that in my post. Apologies.
THANK YOU for being there and relating the hopeful progress youve seen.
It is my pleasure and I am honored and humbled by the opportunity I was given to be a small part of this. :-)

But, wait, when asked directly if things are better in Iraq,Barak said, this has been the worstyear in terms of death tolls. There is no depth to which they will not sink.
Things have improved so much in Iraq since August that my head is spinning. They have improved beyond my wildest dreams.

Absolutely agree regarding "bait".
Members of the hard-fighting Iraqi Army 3rd Division were also here for this special day.
That line really stands out ... if all you hear is the MSM, you wouldn't even know that the Iraqi Army exists, or that it has a 3rd Division ... and you'd certainly never know that it is a competent, capable, professional outfit.
A pox on MSM.
