Hillary Clinton to speak at Rick Warren's church
One News Now ^ | November 15, 2007 | Fred Jackson

Senator Hillary Clinton (D-New York) will join Rick Warren at his California church this month for an AIDS conference.

Warren says he has invited several other presidential candidates from both parties to attend his third annual Global Summit on AIDS, but Senator Clinton is the only one, so far, to confirm. According to a press release, others who have expressed interest and currently are dealing with scheduling issues include GOP presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and Rudy Giuliani, and Democrats John Edwards and Senator Barak Obama (D-Illinois).

According to Warren, "Inviting politicians from different perspectives to the Summit is not a political decision -- it is a humanitarian and Christian action." The Summit is scheduled for Nov. 27-Dec. 1 at Saddleback Church, Warren's church in Lake Forest, California.

Obama was one of the speakers during Warren's Global Summit on AIDS last year, as was Senator Sam Brownback (R-Kansas) who last month withdrew from the GOP presidential competition.

In some ways this is worse than Columbia University inviting Ahmadinejad. Columbia is completely controlled by anti-American, liberal secularists who have no moral or ethical anchor. So they are predictably blind to the truth.

Sadly, Rick Warren should know better, but instead, he is being played as a pawn in the left's dishonest war against our conservative moral culture.

Hillary Clinton is a leader in the continued dishonest, aggressive secular movement that seeks to unravel the conservative moral Christian foundation that has always defined American national identity.

Hillary and other cultural marxists only use the Bible, Christianity and Christian churches as political props while feverishly working to eradicate our chosen, historic American biblical heritage, morality and personal responsibility. In this antagonism against Christianity, she is like all anti-American liberals, even those who will then say, but I am a fiscal conservative, but I value the hippie judicial activism that has been used to expand 'freedom'.

All Rick Warren's type of nonsense does is create an air of acceptability in the minds of the uninformed that Hillary is not really so bad, not really so evil and does not really hate our biblical foundation.

Hillary is not Ahmadinejad but she is just as dishonest and lawless and neither can be trusted with power.

Warren needs to sit and be taught until he can learn responsibility.

I used to live 30 miles away from $addleback, Inc. I know all I need to about Pa$tor Purpo$e Driven.

I will speak to a fool in manner that I believe the fool would understand. I’ll take my cue from Paul in I Corinthians. Instruction, training, correcting is often harsh. That how a lesson is learned. Look to Jesus if you want grace. If you want to tell mature or even somewhat aware christians that an obvious evil is Okey-dokey, don’t be surprised when you get rebuked. If you don’t like sand in your trunks, stay off the beach, junior.

when I help build the local children’s park I am not endorsing the wild partying life style of the people working with me.

But you would draw the line at inviting them into your church and asking them to share their wisdom with the congregation, right? Would'nt your church's pastor at least make sure that these "helpers" would not spread poison in your church before giving them pulpit time? Wouls your pastor allow someone to give a prfanity laced ghetto rap performance in return for their help in the community from your churche's pulpit?

For that matter, how many of these helpers are now going to your church or any other? How many of them have repented and given their hearts to Jesus? How many of them are just one more day closer to Hell when they are done helping you with the park.

If that park project is not winning souls, it is nothing more than a distraction from your Lord's business.

Can you see Israel inviting a Baal worshiper to speak inside Solomon's Temple just to speak about curing disease?

I really don't understand why you can't see the problem. Help dying people if you feel so led. That is good and not evil. Though the big production of it all seems a bit self-glorifying (charity done in secret seems more correct) -- either way, go outside of your church to do it so that you don't use the church as a poster child for Universalism.

Sometimes good intentions are not enough. Sometimes you have to be willing to look at what the finished product looks like and see if you are sending the wrong message.

It shall be interesting to see how many times saint Hillry bashes Bush in her sermon. What irony to have this woman preaching in what is suppose to be a church of God. Here is one who has preached the doctrine of hate Bush to the point even church goers are filled with more hate of Bush than the evil deeds of the terrorists killers.

The doctrine of first ones taken, got my ticket out of here before that tribulation begins, motivates many of these to support Hillry. She probably is to them a sign, after all, that worldly renowned come to Jesus preacher, did say she would be a good leader.

I bet the illegal invasion subject, you know law breaking, won't be discussed, because Jesus did away with the law. And saint Hillry did say of the Republicans over their immigration bill, 'they would make Jesus illegal if they could'.

Why doesn’t he just have an open invitation for Satan to speak as well. I don’t know if this guy was ever saved or not, but, when a cause becomes more important than the Gospel you are off. Yes,, feeding the hungry, helping our neighbor, helping the poor,, all must be done if you are a Christian! BUT, IT IS NOT DONE IN PLACE OF OR AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR OR HIGHER THAN PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST! Do not get me wrong here. He is fighting AIDS! Wonderful! It will not change the world! Jesus Christ is the answer, has always been the answer and will always be the answer to AIDS, hunger and poverty! There are so many watered down so called churches,, they think they see they can get so much fame and so much money by diluting the Bible ,, by rejecting the cross, they “preach God but deny his power” ashamed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I am glad I am in a church where the leadership does not compromise! Sin is sin, hell is hell and Jesus is Jesus! Our church has done nothing but steadily grown year after year! I have seen so many miracles,, so many changed lives,, we have a large growing youth ministry, and all by preaching the Gospel! There is no substitute for the cross! Preaching positive thinking and financial success will get you fame and fortune,, having a message that is nothing more that “God wants you to be all you can be and loves you soooo much!” will earn you big money and open doors for you in Hollywood and in politics,,, you will end up as one of the best positive preachers in hell! God is not impressed!

Your words are mean and thoughtless and not becoming a believer. Yes you may speak anyway you please but whether the Lord is please is another matter.

Yes I agree that we must be thoughtful about the implications of any association...shun even the appearance of evil....my though is that having H.Clinton speak at a non worship time about a common concern might send exactly the right message...something like this "we are the Church of Jesus Christ, and we believe Jesus is the one and only way of eternal salvation, and we love and care about others just as He does." Yet also one must imagine that associating with sinners might lead some to think you are endorsing them....but isn't that exactly what Jesus said not to worry about....isn't that the very thing that made the Jewish leaders so angry...."he eats with sinners, he goes to their house"

Let me ask again if Warren had only invited Fred Thompson would that have been o.k.?

Another heretic inviting a liberal to deceive the people. This has been going on for at least two thousand years, nothing new.

Invited Fred for what and as what?

In what way does that event send the message "we believe Jesus is the one and only way of eternal salvation"?

I don't object to Christians participating in good works that help people. If it is a church mission then the church should be mindful of the doctrine and beliefs of participants (as opposed to recipients). If it is secular, fine. But don't try to have it both ways and call it "the Church of Jesus Christ" when one of the invited speakers is a Mormon (along with other inappropriate speakers). You are way beyond eating with and are instead being led by the unbelievers.

I don't go as far as some others go. I don't have a particular problem with Warren and his wife embracing a particular secular charity and making it their own. I am bothered by how Warren seems to think he is ambassador to the world. I don't think he is qualified just because he sells a lot of fairly simplistic books.

I do not know Warren's heart. I can tell you that the praise he receives for his efforts is his reward. If he wanted to truly please God -- if his focus were solely on honoring God and not himself -- I can't help but think he would serve people without alerting the media and inviting all the famous and important set to make a big production of it. All that money for travel -- air, meals, hotels, etc -- and that big production could buy quite a few AIDS cocktails for poor orphans in Africa. Of course who would be there to make Rick Warren and his wife feel important?

This is how the Christian is supposed to practice charity:

Matthew 6:1-4
1. Beware of practicing your righteousness before men, to be noticed by them, otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven. 2. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 3. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4. so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

no it does not

If Rick would make a public statement saying, "I don't agree with Hillary's stance on abortion (and whatever else), but we agree on this issue and I am happy she is willing to helps us."

Without some sort of public statement, he comes across looking as though he is endorsing her and her stances.

I am not endorsing the wild partying life style of the people working with me.

You aren't a public figure, and those 'partying people' aren't running for President. Big difference.

Not the same as being a national public figure.

I live within two miles of Saddleback Church and have attended services there from time to time. I take an almost daily walk and pass through the parking lot. Yesterday, I could hear one of the preachers speaking. Had my timing been a bit different, I may have heard Hillary’s words!

Warren invited ALL the candidates, but she was the only one smart enough to attend. And she actually gave some credit to Bush on his AIDS policies. Here’s a link to the article about her:
