(NY PBA Pres.)PATRICK LYNCH ON RUDY GIULIANI’S PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDACY (NYCPBA Will Not Endorse Rudy)
NYCPBA ^ | November 12, 2007

Posted on 11/14/2007 11:55:01 AM PST by SubGeniusX

Regarding Rudy Giuliani’s presidential candidacy, PBA president Patrick J. Lynch said:

“The inability to keep veteran cops on the job or to recruit adequate numbers of new ones can be traced directly back to the Giuliani mayoralty. While the city was rolling in money, the Giuliani administration cried future poverty and stuck New York City police officers with three and a half years without a raise. Giuliani’s ‘zeroes for heroes’ contracts held police pay stagnant while all the other local departments in the metro area were getting modest but steady raises. Today, there are simply not enough NYPD police officers to keep this city safe, and it is his fault.

Giuliani has wrapped himself firmly in the cloak of 9/11 for his own political purposes. But the real heroes of 9/11, those who helped to evacuate those towers and lived to tell the tale and all those who participated in the recovery and cleanup, know the truth. Rudy Giuliani has no real credentials as a terrorism fighter. His only credentials lie in managing the cleanup after a terror attack. The New York City Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association could never support Rudy Giuliani for any elected office."

But, he’s polling well in CT in 2007! So what if it’s way before the general election campaign has even started!

We all know that means he’ll win, right? lol

“with three and a half years without a raise”

Don’t give unions money you get no support. Not being endorsed by a union is not a negative.

lynch is a democrat through and through. He endorses every democrat he can find. He has plans to retire and run as a rat for the New York State Senate ( Ooops I wasn’t supposed to let that out it’s a secret wink wink).
Please this phony lynch endorsed comrade mark green ( his brother now owns airhead America so comrade markie has a job. His endorsements mean zero to real cops. Because of lynch’s endorsement of green the rookies got a 25K starting salary stuffed down their throats. He has made the PBA just another thug union that rubber stamps democrats every cycle.

This is the PBA, between them and the NY Firefighters, not supporting Rudy ... this will be a problem...

Rudy's campaing relies strongly only on the image he has cultivated since 9/11

The NYC PBA and UFA will be viewed by John Q. Public as the spokespersons for the true Hero's of 9/11...

They will publicly campaign against Rudy in the Generals...

who will the populace give more credence to?

Democrats may pay attention. Most Republicans—which includes many rank-and-file police and firemen—don’t give much credence to what corrupt union bosses have to say.

BFD — The PBA did not support him when he ran for mayor either, but the rank and file did. This quote from the article is almost too funny:

“While the city was rolling in money, the Giuliani administration cried future poverty and stuck New York City police officers with three and a half years without a raise. Giuliani’s ‘zeroes for heroes’ contracts held police pay stagnant while all the other local departments in the metro area were getting modest but steady raises. Today, there are simply not enough NYPD police officers to keep this city safe, and it is his fault.”

PBA President Patrick Lynch is obviously an idiot because the contract was negotiated through the collective bargaining process, and would not have been approved by the PBA membership if not for the support of the PBA leadership who negotiated the deal in the first place.

Also, the other police departments did not receive modest raises, but rather, they received hugh raises that, in fact, contributed to the financial instability of Nassau and Suffolk Counties and other municipalities where poicie officers routinely make six figures.

And while this featherbedder thinks there are not enough police officers to keep NYC safe, the reality is that NYC remains, by far, the safest big city in the USA.
