Superintendent Alvin Lievsay said a student's parent promised to bring in a raccoon for the exercise, but surprised teacher Jerick Hutchinson by bringing the animal in a live trap. Lievsay said Hutchinson, "who used to work in a slaughter house," took the animal outside to the back of his truck Friday and shot it with the nail gun.

I’ve had raccoon, not bad eating if done right. A nail gun wouldn’t mess up any meat or the hide.

Sitting in a padded cell at Bellvue.

Got no problem with coon hunting - its a good sport.

But any teacher who shoots a caged coon with a nail gun on school property or off is a little loose in the skull and to do it under these circumstances brings his ability to function rationaly into serious question.

I’ve eaten a lot of game, but can’t remember specifically raccoon. When I was a small child, we ate whatever didn’t eat us first..................

What was this teacher doing with a nail gun within 1,000 feet of a school? After all, the phrase nail gun does contain the wotd “gun”, and kids have been jailed for having PICTURES of guns.

They teach animal skinning and examination of stomach contents in HIGH SCHOOL?

Geez, no wonder so many kids graduate who can't read or do basic math.

Heh!! when I was in grade school in Valdez, Alaska we had armed escorts in the late summer and fall due to bears. the parents would take turns standing by the kids at the bus stop with a shot gun. I have no problem with what this teacher did, and Id even venture to say that if there were more like him, schools in general would be safer, and certainly less apt to be “victim rich zones” Im just sayin...

If you can't be with the gun you love,
Love the gun you're with.

Seems like they could have found a Pit Bull to nail instead of one of God’s innocent creatures.
