Wonderful thread Aqua! thank you so much for presenting this to us. & love the color scheme you chose... great.

My favorite brother lives in Oklahoma! (well, my only brother) but I will give him & some of his friends that I know a heads up on this thread... and if I can get into my external hard drives will post some pix of my visits there.

So nice that this is a two day thread. They all should be IMHO.. showcase them well..

Great presentation, Aqua.

Sure wish our congress-critters were of the same caliber as Oklahoma’s.

Oh, and I have a nephew who played baseball at OU.

My maternal Grandparents and my wife’s were Sooners.

My Grandparents lived in Oklahoma for the rest of their lives as most of their descendants. Their son and one daughter, who left, ended up in border towns in Texas and Kansas. I was the first real escapee until a nephew and neice left the state. About 95% of my high school graduation class stayed in Oklahoma or returned after school and/or the military.

My wife’s grandparents had two terrible winters in the Lawton area and summers. They returned to the midwest and their families/friends after those two years. My wife’s grandfather developed health problems and died in a few years after their return to the midwest. Her grandmother raised her mother and two uncles by herself during some tough economic times.

Beautiful thread, Aqua. Thank you for bringing us Oklahoma.

My maternal grandmother was born in Altus, OK in 1896.

My mother and I visited relatives in Oklahoma in 1995. I heard a lot of family stories and saw some beautiful country. Also met some wonderful relatives.

Thank you again for this beautiful presentation.

Hugs.

Happy Birthday Oklahoma. Good friends of mine come from there and I have been there many times. Good golf, lot's of fun on a friend's houseboat on Lake Eufalla (sp), and pretty girls, not as pretty as Texas but good looking non the less. I'm a Texan (transplanted to Minnesota now) and we used to joke a lot about Oklahoma but it is beautiful country, and they got some damn good cowboys, not as good as Texas but real good.

They say Oklahoma doesn't have a professional football team. Don't say that in Norman! We always planned on Oklahoma to beat the Aggies, but the Texas Oklahoma game was a different story. Good memories in those old games, and many a nasty hangover.

If you're looking in......Hey Clyde, you old OKS Cowboy!

I want to take just a brief moment to invite everyone to this thread and take a good long look at the state which i was proud to have been born in

Oklahoma was incorporated into statehood on November 16, 1907. A lot has happened since then some good, some not so good. There's a lot of interesting stories to look at and lots of interesting stuff to read about.

Lawton is Oklahoma's third largest city. it came into existence as the result of a land lottery. The city is home to one of America's greatest military installations, Ft. Sill. The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is also within driving distance. There's lots of Buffalo out there.

So much to find out about this great state of Oklahoma. I invite everyone to take a look at this thread to find out more.

Hate to tell you this, but Brad Pitt is not an Oklahoman.

He was born in Springfield, MO.
