And, the city that our G.P.S. went crazy in this past September. It kept telling us to make turns that were so wrong. And, then I saw this wonderful antique table in a yard for sale. A young Army couple was being transfered, and just wanted to get rid of it. I love Lawton, because I love my table.

I am not a country fan, but Wanda Jackson from Maud, Ok. should be on the list. She put Rockabilly on the map, and was one of Elvis’s girlfriends.

ell, phooey! She wasn't on 'the list' I got the others from, so I'll post her picture here!

Thanks, CC - I'm not familiar with her name or her music, but sounds like she certainly should have been included.

The reason that I found out about Wanda was that I was looking a relative of my husband’s. Wayne Jackson was from Maud as well. His father was a barber at the Palace Hotel in Seminole.
If anyone should know of this man, please ping me.

CC

This reminds me of San Antonio's RiverWalk, which I absolutely LOVE to visit! It's the Bricktown Canal in Oklahoma City - downtown?

Jaycee???? Miss you - hope everything is okay.

I never knew that Bricktown had a canal. I really wished that my husband could have gone to see it. He was a world traveler, but always wanted to go to San Antonio, we never made it.

See, since I’m not really familiar with so MUCH of the state all I know is what was on the name of that picture (which I found by following a link to Will Rogers Airport!)

San Antonio is a great place to visit - of course there’s the Alamo and a lot of history throughout the city, but I’ve been there enough, I just enjoy walking up and down the RiverWalk, shopping, eating, watching people. :)

I love this hybrid tea rose “Oklahoma”... it grew in the front yard of the last place I lived. A deeply red rose (turns black at the end of blooming), lovely fragrance. Thanks, MEG.

Bricktown Canal in Oklahoma City

Now isn't that charming!

I remember the warehouse district but all of this is new since I've been gone.

I believe I will pick this as my favorite. I love the lavendar, orchid, or whatever color. Beautiful match...
