Today, Laura Ingraham had George Stephanopolos on for a phone interview. I called Kristinn to advise him to listen and he reminded me that George Stephanopolos was the ultimate "plant", having appeared to be just another caller that got through to The Larry King Shoe during Bush '41's apppearance literally days before the election. In fact, Stephanopolos wasn't just another caller waiting in line like everyone else, Stephanopolos was on an inside phone line for guests, having been arranged by a King producer, despite the claims by King during the show that George got through because "anyone can call". So I call Ingraham's show, ask if Georgie's taking questions and am put on hold. While on hold, I hear Ingraham playfully asking Stephanopolos if Bill's campaign ever planted questions. Georgie issues a flat denial of any such skullduggery. So I'm figuring, this will be a good exchange with Ingraham, I'm sure she'll rememnber and perhaps have a bit of fun at Stephanopolos' expense. Not only was it a planted question, it was arranged by the media and Stepahopoulos had just denied it. Not to be because the screener comes back and drops the call. Unfortunately, this kind of happens often with that show. With the vast amount of knowledge available via the Freeper corporate memory, I just don't understand why these kinds of relevant reminders are virtually never aired. And the show is extremely painful to listen to when they have Code Pink on. Their representative just eats Ingraham's lunch because the show never works with the most current information. Compared to what they should have done, whatever they manage to chide Code Pink for, it's minor in comparison. BOTTOM LINE: Laura Ingraham Let Stephanopolos Skate on Plantgate
Hmmm, no wonder she can't get a guy. :)
>:P
I also have quit listening to LI. Too many talkies get to the point where they seem to think that the show is as much about them as it is about the issues.
Actually some of the best talk (IMO) is on the weekend with Monica Crowley, Tammy Bruce, David Gold, John Batchelor and Tom Gresham of Gun Talk. Monica can slice and dice as well as anyone and Gold knows the topics and presents them well.
I'm easy, ask around...
She's a very nice person. I met her outside Cheney's house and was impressed how down to earth she was.
Again my problem is with the hosts on our side of the spectrum not listening. FR has tens of thousands of people, it's common that someone has a very relevant addition to the debate.
But then again, it's their show. They managed to get there.
I heard a little bit of Beckel and that was all I could take. Did she ask him if he’d bounced any checks to prostitutes lately?
Laura and Sean are okay but the two that stand out for me are Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin. Mark Levin especially - I like his take no prisoners style of calling a person or situation for what they exactly are./Just Asking - seoul62......
I concur that Rush and Levin have more depth in their analysis. Frequently are the originators of an issue, to which the other hosts can only join the chours and say, “Me too.”
Sorry, but I turned the radio off.
Wish she would get as wound up over substantive issues.
Missed all that, I just don’t listen to her anymore.
Two weeks ago, DFU talked with Laura after she did two segments on his film about Peter Paul's fundraiser, the report on the film by ABC News' Brian Ross, and the eventual suit that will put Clintonoid all-stars on the witness stand.
Sorry, Doug — should have pinged you on #31.
Her producer chimed in today, “Yeah, she doesn’t know who Peter Paul is.” That was good to hear. She has my contact number from my call last week, and I’m hoping she’ll get me on as a guest. Soon.
If any FReepers have contacts in Iowa, now is the time for a group to sponsor a showing of HILLARY! UNCENSORED. That has to be shown there and make news before the Caucuses.
Steffie also got away with saying something about how she is less partisan now. What?
Hardly. She is standing up for principles of conservatism versus ‘settling’ for someone who is perceived to be the only one to beat Hillary. Even Ann Coulter has said its either Romney or Rudy, take your pick. Laura is standing for principle. I’d hardly call that lightweight, regardless of how she was with Steffi.
I find her to be rude to her guests. She also has picked up the MSM’s lies about the war in Iraq. She often quotes them about how the war was mismanaged and has been a failure.
She also goes on too many rants.
I also remember the ultimate liberal plant in Steponallofus when he called into the King show.
These effing people had a place called the "War Room" where they went after Republicans instead of terrorists for 8 years - and America got 911.
This is the first I've heard this, but it doesn't surprise me. I wanted to punch her so bad. A regular person may get one chance in their lifetime to actually ask a president a question and she acted like a giggling, retarded groupie.
I will never forget the look on President Bush's face when he heard Stephanopolous' voice and knew King was allowing him to be sand-bagged. I felt so bad for him.
Laura knows little about the immigration issue, especially the legal immigration policies that are far more dangerous to our long term survival as a nation. She is also ill-informed about the entitlement programs.
