Too pricey for $60. Rumor has it that by 2010 prices will dramatically drop for LED’s. In the meantime you can buy 48 CFL’s on eBay for $50 and that includes shipping.

This is the bulb that I bought 6 of at about $4.00 apiece.

5 of them quit operating quickly, I’m sure it wasn’t the LEDs but the electronics that failed, any theories on why these failed, and some say that the cheap flashlights sometimes lose one or more LEDs?

Still spendy. I have used them in hard to get to industrial applications and where clients are sensitive about mercury. But $60 is hard to swallow at home!!!

LED/edison replacements $12

i have built some pretty impressive brake/tailight circuit boards with the Luxeons, buck puck drivers and heat sinks.

The most impressive project I have seen yet is the 38 watt 10" LED panel with automotive headlight output that rivals HID (www.holderoffroad.com) problem with high flux leds is that to achieve the hi lumens output levels the watt draw begins to equal HID or incandescent
