Why the Ron Paul Campaign is Dangerous
NewsBull ^ | November 11, 2007 | JB Williams

I hate wasting this much press time on Ron Paul. But the Paul campaign is becoming a real threat to the Republican primary process and if allowed to continue, he will take votes away from the most conservative Republican candidates in the party, not the most liberal. This is bad for the party and the country.

(snip)

So, how Republican is Republican candidate Ron Paul?

If he’s funded largely by anti-war leftists, from Democrat stronghold districts and counting on Democrats, Libertarians and members of the Green Party to win the Republican nomination, not very…

“You’re the one who’s thowing(sic) out tax cuts as being sufficient all by themselves.”

I have not! You are either being delberately obtuse or you are representative of the intelligence of the average RP supporter.

YOU brought up how horrible Bush has been, I asked something along the lines if Al Gore had been president, would he have cut taxes in response to 9/11? Would our economy have sucked from September 2001 to now?

I know how badly the Republicans have blown it on spending. I know how badly Bush has blown it on being socialist-lite and spending like there was no tomorrow. Some of this was in response to 9/11.

It would have been cheaper and we could have cut government spending by crawling in our shells, firing all non essential government employees, pull every military person back to the USA, sunk our navy and scrapped our air force.

Imagine Bush doing this all right after 9/11. We would have seen Washington ripped apart into tiny little pieces by hands of millions of now out of work citizens.

“You think you’re going to get it by tearing down every attempt he’s ever made to actually reduce the size of the federal government because you don’t like his foreign policy?”

This statement doesn’t even make sense.

Show me what legislation he has written that has reduced the size of the federal government. Not co-sponsered, what bills he has written.

Now you’re trying to convince me he doesn’t want to reduce the size of the federal government. Do you really expect me to buy that?

"You can't help but respond to me"

Let's rewind the tape on this one.

Hemingway's Ghost says: "Whew . . . don’t quit your day job."

Lormand says: "thanks"

Yet here you are still acting like a pompous, self absorbed assclown (apologies to real assclowns).

Can't you accept a sincere thanks and be done with it?

Your "thanks" was insincere, of course.

I was done with you several messages ago. Your whining on another thread---this one, in fact---opened it back up again.

No I’m asking for proof that he has done anything other than talk about it.

Question
Where are the protests and sit ins in our representatives’s offices by those demanding they bring home fewer pork dollars?

Where are the protests and sit ins in our representatives’s offices by those demanding they end or privatize social security now?

Where are the posts demanding the same that every other candidate who ever earmarked a dollar withdraw from the race because of it? We’ve got a poster who claims that there are basically no Republicans who actually want smaller government, and 300 posts later not one person has expressed any disagreement with that assesment, only disagreement about which one of their candidates we should vote for.

"Your "thanks" was insincere, of course."

Shall I rewind the tape again? Do you not recall this very line of conversation? I most sincerely get a kick out of annoying pompous a-holes.

Again, THANKS for your criticism.

"I was done with you several messages ago. Your whining on another thread---this one, in fact---opened it back up again."

Whining? I liked your response so much I linked it to some of my fellow Freepers. Whining is when you actually complain about it, and flag it to the admins.

My facination with your responses is that Freerepublic is a Conservative forum, yet you chose to use it only as a vehicle to criticize silly parodies which took no effort to write?

You have to admit, this raises lots of suspicions when the parody you took 100 megs of disk space to scrutinize was about Ron Paul.

If you wanted that, you wouldn't have been so careful to exclude the voting record from consideration.

Yes, that's the only thing I do on Free Republic. Get a grip.

Maybe there are other things you do on Freerepublic, but one of them sure isn't being brave enough to comment on the subject matter of the thread.

I have continually baited you to respond to this, but you keep thinking you are important enough to hurt my feelings. I even posted the "thanks" link, yet something is preventing you from seeing this.

I must conclude that you are a genuine idiot.

You are indeed a simpleton.

The original thread was about marijuana, yet you weren't "brave enough" to post about that subject. Instead, you posted a Ron Paul song parody---i.e., wholly unrelated to the subject of the thread. I criticized your sophomoric song parody, and that's it. You took offense to that; your pleas to the contrary notwithstanding.

My only dealings with you thus far on Free Republic have been about this song parody, yet you draw grand, sweeping conclusions about me based on just that. I've been on Free Republic for quite a long time. If you want to engage me on a matter of substance, feel free to do so elsewhere. It's a big forum.

I thanked you. Shall we roll back the tape?

Here it is again.

Hemingway's Ghost, thank you for not liking my stupid parody.

Do you think it is possible for someone to get a kick out of negative criticism? If not, then my idiot charge to you stands.

Anyone can throw around truisms as a distraction. Fortunately, more than a few can see through it.

If that's your standard, where's the damanation of every other candidate and their supporters that don't measure up?

Glenn Beck on Ron Paul

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUpPsts1DYk

I agree with Glenn Beck that most Republicans are really Libertarians at heart but could we ever back a candidate that doesn't support our troops mission in Iraq? Could we ever go along with wanting to legalize street drugs and stop the WOD?

The answer is a big fat "NO" and that is why Ron Paul is the Mayor of Crazy Town.

Glenn Beck is right that we aren't against many Libertarian ideas. You guys just picked the wrong candidate.

Case Closed

By the way, Two large agenda items of George Soros is to legalize drugs and get us out of Iraq.

Yup. Sick people, or people with an axe to grind. You seem to be of both types.

Could we ever understand the difference between "legalizing street drugs", and leaving it to the States to take care of it?
