Why the Ron Paul Campaign is Dangerous
NewsBull ^ | November 11, 2007 | JB Williams

Posted on 11/11/2007 12:39:35 PM PST by PlainOleAmerican

I hate wasting this much press time on Ron Paul. But the Paul campaign is becoming a real threat to the Republican primary process and if allowed to continue, he will take votes away from the most conservative Republican candidates in the party, not the most liberal. This is bad for the party and the country.

(snip)

So, how Republican is Republican candidate Ron Paul?

If he’s funded largely by anti-war leftists, from Democrat stronghold districts and counting on Democrats, Libertarians and members of the Green Party to win the Republican nomination, not very…

Now it’s your turn to be a man and answer very straight forward questions that you have been dodging for an hour now...

Fine, I will ask the question again and make it simpler:

A. Are you saying that you don’t support Paul’s plan to surrender American interests around the world?
or
B. Are you saying that you do support this but that you object to me pointing out that it’s anti-American?

Hillary Defeats Ron Paul

That Hillary vs. Ron Paul Rasmussen Poll: What Does It Mean ?
http://www.thelibertypapers.org/2007/10/31/that-hillary-vs-rasmussen-poll-what-does-it-mean/

Poll Matching Hillary Clinton and Ron Paul Tells A Lot About Clinton, Little About Paul
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_2008__1/2008_presidential_election/poll_matching_hillary_clinton_and_ron_paul_tells_a_lot_about_clinton_little_about_paul

The only noticeable difference to be found is among that very small slice of the electorate that has a Very Favorable opinion of Paul. Seven percent (7%) of the nation’s voters fit this description and they prefer the Texas Congressman over the Democratic frontrunner by a 70% to 27% margin.

So, outside of a small group of avid Ron Paul fans, support for Senator Clinton is unchanged whether or not the survey respondent has ever heard of Ron Paul.

What you said in #243 is not what you said #105.

Funny thing, I read what people actually write and when they preface a reply with BS I tend not to read much further.

“This is the problem, right here...

http://www.primarilypaul.com/ron-paul-in-the-primaries/

Daily Paul is all over this strategy... They CAN botch the RNC nomination process by doing the same things they have been doing to online polls.”

Did you see the first reply on there? The guy is a registered democrat, wants to change over to vote in the Republican primary, and then change back to democrat.

I’ve been saying all along that it’s hillary’s supporters who are trying to skew the election process because the way they see it, ron paul IS the easiest one to sweep aside.

I take it that you are a big foreign aid fan who likes countries that we give money to who hates us in return?

"Yep, and look how well it worked out for Howie Dean"

Actually, it did not work out too bad for Howard Dean. The grass roots movement that sprung up around his campaign ended up taking over the structure of the Democratic Party. We need to take a broader, more long term view of winning and losing. Kerry beat Dean in the 2004 primaries, but whose campaign organization had a bigger role in shaping the direction of the Democratic Party past the 2004 elections? Lets take off the blinders of short term electoral victories and consider the possibility of planting the seeds of a long term political movement.

Yep, and look how well it worked out for Howie Dean (who, by the way, is a paragon of sound mental health compared to Paul).

As is Squeaky Fromme. ;)

“And even if leftists do contribute to his campaign, it seems like they would be working against their interests, since Paul’s view of government is completely antithetical to liberal leftist ideology.”

They see it as a means to an end.

The leftist’s goal is to install hillary.

And as long as they can skew the Republican primary to put in a weak candidate who polls in the single digits then so be it.

Your reply #243...

I said, if you’re not anti-war, you are not pro-Paul. You disagreed. Then you posted a link to a pro-war Paul vote as if to demonstrate that Paul is pro-war I assume.

I told you in reply #179 why I included that link and yet you attempt to use your non-exitstant mind reading powers to assume something that just isn't there. So just shove your BS questions.

From another with 10 years of freeping, very well said.

So the kids hear about limited government from a guy no one thinks has a chance to win, but he gets more hate per thread here than HITLERY or her husband! I have never seen such schizophrenia on FR.

We are in a life and death struggle to LIMIT GOVERNMENT. We will lose this county from within rather than from without if we let ourselves be so damn afraid of Islamofascists that we drop out of the civil war we have been fighting for years with FDR socialists and Hillery fascists and all the RINOs that keep “making nice” to them.

My own party, which I helped put back in power in 1994 with my blood, sweat, tears, prayers, and money, has not even kept its contract with me to get rid of the “National Endowment for the Arts” that takes money from We the People and gives it to “artists” to put a crucifix in a jar of urine! Come on, we can’t even win a SYMBOLIC victory? The NEA is still right there in all its illegality because of the RINOs in power right now, and if you withhold your taxes that go to the NEA, the Feds will come against you with deadly force.

And the Department of Education that we were going to get rid of...oh, yeah, never mind, we have “the education president” so it’s fine to steal our money at gunpoint and force one-size-fits-all back-east-style Federal education on Texas. Just little examples among a zillion of how we have gained almost NOTHING with the status quo running things, just a slower slide into the same damn socialism. Thanks guys—not.

The majority of the “Republicans” running right now are in essence “developmentally delayed Democrats” whose present views and plans and opinions will lead in ten years to the EXACT same place that the Hilleryfascists advocate now. It’s obvious!

Limited government means limited government. There is only one candidate running right now who has stuck to his principles over the YEARS to promote limited government both in congress and through his educational foundations. He has taught many people about limited government. Thank God some people are still listening to those ideas and are not so artificially macho and cowed by fear of third world countries like Iran that they can’t see the good in those ideas.

Let the kids learn about limited government and long for it; and let their heroes be Real Republicans who actually are committed to it, not RINOs who have never actually even READ their Republican State Party Platform to see how dismally we are measuring up to our own ideals! (Oh yeah, forgot, that’s real hard to find in a package nowadays, and impossible to find among the “frontrunners”.)

Now you are confused... you asked for support for number 247, which I gave, number 105. Now you’re referrencing 243, which was unrelated, but another set of unanswered questions directed at you.

But thanks for refusing to answer the simple questions posed. You are the coward I expected you to be...

Exchange over... you are an anti-American Pinko Fraud as accused.

IMO - Paul and Giuliani are about the only two candidate who can’t defeat Hillary. The leftist press seems to agree, since they keep pushing both.

What makes me laugh about you people is that all of you act as if Ron Paul sitting in the White House will have the powers of a king.

WHAT MAKES ME LAUGH

1.) Any Groucho Marx flick (particularly A Night at the Opera)

2.) Nitrous oxide

2.) Mystery Science Theater 3000

4.) The bizarrely off-kilter assumptions and failed attempts at "snappy comebacks" of Paulestinians on the Free Republic boards. Like watching a turtle valiantly straining to successfully execute a back flip, essentially.

That was fun! Let's do this again, real soon now!

"He gives instructions on his website on how to re-register to vote in the Republican primaries."

In Specter's last primary election where he ran against Toomey, this is exactly what he did. He got loyal Democrat union members with the blessing and assistance of his buddy the Guv, Rendell, to re-register as Republicans to vote for him in the primary. Specter traveled the state from P'burgh to Philly speaking to Jewish Democrat groups who support him, passing out cards to every audience having them re-register as Republicans so they could vote for him in the primary. And just like Ron Paul, one of his largest donors is George Soros.

Once he nailed the primary and defeated Toomey, he sailed to a victory in the general election supported by the Democrats and RINOs who always vote for him and with help from the Democrat Guv, Rendell (signs mushroomed all over with Rendell/Specter on them) who refused to even allow the twirp (some lefty Democrat congressman from E PA) who opposed Specter in the general to even be endorsed by the PA Democrat party.

“I prefer Cultists...”

Yeah I can see these paultards in their purple Nike sneakers and their bubble wrap “space suits” worshiping everything ron paul.

Just listening to what these people say, and then reading the stuff said about hitler during his rise to power it’s almost like history IS repeating itself.

“We believe on this earth in Adolf Hitler alone!” - Dr. Robert Ley on adolf hitler.

Change out ron paul for adolf hitler, and you have an almost daily utterance of a paultard.

From falsemessiahs.com:

“In the eyes of his people, Hitler had rescued them from the humiliations of their defeat in World War I. Better still, he was going to lead all Germans into a future of unrivaled glory.

Freed at last from the dreadful fears that military and economic catastrophe had aroused in them, Germans envisioned Hitler as a truly magical figure of majestic wisdom and power. They saw him as an irresistible force, and they surrendered their whole hearts to him. He hypnotized Germans into worshipping him, successfully presenting himself as a savior and even as God himself. This is also the procedure the anti-Christ will use to become world ruler. Could people today be swayed by such a charismatic leader?”
