George Bush phones wounded Polish ambassador to Iraq 09.11.2007 10:20
The President of the United States George Bush has phoned Polish ambassador to Iraq Edward Pietrzyk, hospitalised in the Grievous Burns Cure Centre in Gryfice, northern Poland.
Gen. Edward Pietrzyk was severely wounded in a bomb attack in Baghdad at the beginning of October.
President Bush wished me speedy recovery. He expressed hope that soon we will be able to resume the co-operation, said Pietrzyk after a telephone conversation with the American president.
I myself thanked the president for the Americans help after the attack while still in Iraq. It is thanks to the immediate help of the American army that I am still alive, the general added.
The ambassadors state has improved and he is to leave the hospital on Friday. He will be transported to his home in Warsaw.
Gen. Edward Pietrzyk was injured in a roadside blast in Baghdad on October 3. In the attack on the Polish diplomatic convoy three people died and several others got wounded.
Wasn’t it the EVIL Blackwater guys that rescued him?
How did a phone wound the fellow?
I too hope for his speedy recovery Lizol. He bravely serves a good cause in a dangerous time.
That was my first thought too. Gee, he really does get blamed for everything.
