A Day in the Life of President Bush (with photos): 11-10-07
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
QUOTE(s) OF THE DAY
"First on al Qaeda, we do share a common goal, and that is to eradicate al Qaeda. That goal obviously became paramount to the American people when al Qaeda killed 3,000 innocent souls on our soil. And since then, the United States of America, along with strong allies and friends, has been in pursuit of al Qaeda.
I vowed to the American people we'd keep the pressure on them. I fully understand we need cooperation to do so, and one country that we need cooperation from is Pakistan. That cooperation has been made easier by the fact that al Qaeda has tried to kill leaders in Pakistan several times. And so we share a common goal. " PHOTO OF THE DAY
And keep passing it on .. ;)
Who ARE these MSM people, and why...don't they love our country??? I just don't get it.
Many thanks to Wolfstar for her contributions over the last few years.
Wolfstar due to personal circumstances is at the this time not able to continue posting the weekend dose, I am sure we will all miss her excellent weekend dose(s) and that we all wish her well for the future.
If you are able to Wolfstar please drop in a visit us occasionally we miss you and would love to see you even if you can only drop in ocassionally.
Starwise we look forward to your doses which we all know will be great as we are all familiar with your great posts and once again thank you so much for volunteering to do this labour of love which we all know and appreciate takes a big chunk of our time to do.
Thank you for your hard work, today!!!
Hope so!
My linking skills are nil but John Hawkins at Townhall has a list today of 'The 25 Most Influential People on the Right' and he puts President Bush up there where he belongs at #1. It's a more satisfying list than the UK Telegraph tome that was published last week.
Thanks for the very kind words, snugs and nordp ... I’ll do whatever I can.
How was your birthday, snugs ... we haven’t heard ANYthing about your celebrations .. now, fess up! ;)
Wolfie, we’ll miss you and appreciate so much all the great
thought and excellence in your wonderful threads. Please please ... don’t be a stranger, OK? And let us know what’s happening and how you’re doing.
BDS ...
Not in Crawford though. Poor Wash press corp elites...
Yep, a real bad case of it! ALL of them.
You’re welcome ... rightly so, about #1.
Here our fortunes started to change we were advised that tickets were sold up to about eleven and by the time we got to the window probably noon. We then decided to book tickets for about 2.00pm so we could do the London Eye and have some lunch.
After getting tickets we had a bite to eat at the museum this was a mistake. The coffee was semi cold, the duck wrap tasteless and the chili crisps (chips) blew your head off. Phil could not find anything to tempt him apart for a cookie but picked the wrong one and took one with cranberries in it (he does not like cranberries). That therefore was a waste of 26 dollars.
We then went to the London Eye, here is our official photo taken just before the trip ends.
Next are a couple of photos I took from inside the capsule
After this we went into a cafe along the South Bank and had a coffee and I had a maple and pecan pastry and Phil had a sandwich, I think BLT but I am not sure it may have been ham.
After this we went back to the museum and visited the exhibition which was fantastic and if any of you are in London try and see it, it is here until April next year.
After this we decided to come home and get a Chinese Take-away, I had deep fried shredded chili beef with seaweed and Phil had Chicken Chop Suey and special fried rice. Then we went back to my place and opened my presents. Phil gave me an Eeyore mug, a Canadian cook book he picked up from a restaurant he visited when in the rockies earlier this year.
This is the restaurant he got the cook book from (he took this photo during his visit)
It was a lovely day cold but bright and clear and here are a few photos taken along the South Bank
And believe it or not even an ice cream van in November
WOW .. what an adventurous birthday !!
That exhibit sounds incredible .. were there any
jewels in the exhibit, or mostly works in clay ?
Does that “eye” go around and over the water? Looks
unusual. Is it several cars or one?
Your hair looks shorter .. looks adorable.
I don’t think you’ll forget this birthday, and glad
it was so packed with interesting events. And you
got to have SOME good food ... ;)
The day looked sunny and bright .. but
I guess it was chilly.
Here you can see it was bright but it was cold. This is the National Gallery taken soon after we arrived in London, this is opposite Trafalgar Square.
Again if you are visiting London and you want something lighter to do and and somewhere where you can get some good view of the city I would recommend this.
Here is the website which explains more and gives details of various options you can do such as a cruise along the Thames in conjunction with a trip on the Eye.
The terracotta army men though were amazing, no 2 are alike there are also horses incredible life size creatures along with swans and cranes and even ducks.
We spent over 2 hours in the exhibit and it was just a truly amazing experience if it ever comes to the States you must see it.
Here is some details of the exhibition including a small movie
Had a great day
The only reef that was there yesterday
The only cross on the actual War Memorial yesterday which was placed next to his name on the Memorial. Today now there will be many many more there and if they are still there next Saturday I will take a photograph of them.
