I live in NY and cannot STAND the liberalism in this state. I need to get out of here as soon as I retire. What areas of CO would you say are most conservative? I love to shoot, hunt and just love the outdoors. I'm hoping to find an area that doesn't have TOO much cold and snow in winter ( I know... good luck LOL!). Thanks for any help ou CO folks might be able to give.

Colorado Springs seems to be a nice place.
Move to Boulder!
j/k
I used to live in Colorado Springs - the Gazette Telegraph at that time was a conservative paper, and it really did set the tone for the whole town. Now, I’m not so sure - a lot of liberals from CA moved there and diluted the gene pool ;-)
Asking for the most conservative area in CO is like aking for the coolest place in hell.
Yeah...That's the ticket!
El Paso County which includes Colorado Springs and Douglas County which is also on the Front Range. It’s not that far from Denver. The biggest town in Douglas is Castle Rock.
Bear in mind that Colorado is going blue.
I’d agree with the first post. Northern Colorado Springs is the most conservative place I’ve ever lived.
I left the left coast about 4 years ago and haven’t missed it one bit.

I know quite a few conservative towns in Colorado having grown up there myself, though I wouldn’t actually want to live there(Sterling or Fort Morgan anyone? :P)
“A lot of folks retire to the Western slope in Colorado (Grand Junction, Montrose, Delta, etc.)”
Problem is that the towns you name are being infested with Californians. A lot of ex or current hippies live in the Delta / Peonia area (they grow pot their that they call “Peonia Purple”. Illegals are a problem in Grand Junction.

Yep! Northern Colorado. Base of operations for the NORCO FReepers. I miss those guys!
Please send a ping to the folks.
Back in August I drove across southern Colorado along the Arkansas River from Canyon City past the Royal Gorge to Blue Mesa, I think it’s called. Maybe everybody’s a liberal but I don’t think I’ve ever seen prettier country anywhere.
Try Southwest Colorado, Alamosa or Cortez. It’s conservative and not too cold or snowy in the winter and plenty of outdoors things to do.
Have you given any thought to the Black Hills of western South Dakota? Very conservative area, lower crime rate, less populated and lower cost of living than Colorado. Lots of retired military here. The winters are not as brutal as many think. But, we do have a definite four seasons. Lots of hunting (deer, elk, antelope, mountain lion, wild turkey) and fishing (mostly trout)........and skiing at Terry Peak near Deadwood (gambling there, too) Good airport in Rapid City, with multiple daily flights to Denver, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Chicago and Las Vegas. We have fantastic medical facilities, great shopping (two new big malls being built), good restaurants, and lots of cultural events.
If I didn’t live here, I would move here.
Oh, we also have Mount Rushmore.
CO is not Communist California. You get outside of the Denver metro area and most area’s are going to be conservative. Not that hard to find. Fact is I live 10 miles south of Denver which is very consevative. Tom Tancredo’s district.
