We want to thank you for visiting our website!

Between 1-2 P.M. you will have a chance to see these beautiful aircraft take to the skies for formation fly pasts both over the downtown parade and over the airport.

This is a "NON PROFIT UP CLOSE AVIATION EVENT" Donation proceeds from this event which feature exotic, historic rare military aircraft go towards paying for aviation gasoline, lodging , food and transportation for pilots and crew.

Petaluma Veterans Day Parade

From 1967 to 1983, Julius Forcucci & 2 WWI buddies walked the parade together.

In 1983 one friend died & the other was ill, so Forcucci walked alone carrying an American Flag in 1984 and 1985.

In 1986, 50 veterans joined him and the annual parade began.

Julius Forcucci died Sept. 7,1988 at age 94. During the 1988 Veterans Day Parade a riderless horse with it's stirrups tied to the saddle led the parade in honor of Forcucci.

Over the years the parade has grown. In the early 90's the parade reached 100 entries. The 2005 parade had over 60 entries with over 750 participants. The estimated crowd was over 5,000.

It is the largest Veterans Day Parade north of the Golden Gate.

This looks like an historical event with many very old airplanes and the oldest Veterans Day Parade North of The Golden Gate.

Petaluma is located about 45 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge in the southern end of Sonoma County.

Everyone within driving distance that loves old Aircraft and wants to see a great parade should come!

Great to hear of a Veterans Day Parade in California.

They still put on a pretty good one in my old home town:

I apologize...I didn't mean to sound snippy about California.

I guess as an Okie that did his civilian "tour of duty" in liberal
Los Angeles, I did get a bit tired of the significant level of contempt
for all things military as expressed in the area.

And the good stuff in CA does tend to fade into the background if
you're in places like LA. Or even worse "The Bay Area"!

Aha, you were being a bit snippy. LOL

No problem.

Geographically California is mostly conservative, as is the whole USA.

We just aren’t “noisy” enough.

There’s a lot of us in the Bay Area and we are quite active.

Just a few weeks ago Move America Forward and some FR posters (myself included) infiltrated Berkeley with about 300 Patriotic Troop Supporters to show the Marine Recruiting Office they have support.

Code pink was there and got their...ahem..."lunch"...handed to them.

Hay Jim, some nice Airplanes here!

They flew the flag at half-mast in honor of the Veterans that have passed on.

(Distorted Fotographer on the right...)

This plane was crucial to the War effort in the 40's. It is called a Mustang, I forgot the rest of it's designated name.

It was quite fast, 12 cylinder engine...really sucked up the fuel.

They say that for each hour of flight time it takes 3 hours of maintenance. Beautiful machine.
