Even “The Simpsons” got in a shot at Mailer. I remember one episode where Lisa — normally the liberal intellectual — complained that she couldn’t stand to read one more line of Mailer “waxing nostalgic about his waning libido.” That about sums him up for me.
In my opinion, his best work was when he made a cameo appearance on “The Gilmore Girls”.
