Toxic toys. Contaminated food. Illegal Campaign Contributions

While we are outraged by toys coated in toxic chemicals, and unsettled by reports of tainted Chinese ‘farm fish’, there is a stunning lack of interest in China polluting our already foul election process. No one seems too concerned about the influence of illegal Chinese funding in our government.

Chinese money is the bigger issue for our children, for if it is allowed to go unchecked, foreign nationals will control our destiny. Where is the outrage? Where is our government? Where are the investigations?

As tragic as a few children getting ill or dieing from Chinese toys is, the prospect of all our children suffering from the slower monetary pollution is the greater concern I think.

A senior Chinese banker has suggested the government reduce its share of US-dollar assets within 1.4 trillion dollars of foreign exchange reserves, state press reported Friday.

Tang Shuangning, chairman of state-controlled China Everbright Bank, said China should adjust the structure of its reserves and cut the ratio of dollar assets, according to major business newspapers, including Shanghai Securities News and China Securities Journal.

Tang, a former vice chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, was addressing a forum in Beijing Thursday. Tang's remarks came one day after Cheng Siwei, vice chairman of China's national parliament, was reported as saying strong currencies ought to be given more weight in the reserves to offset the losses in weak ones.

"For instance, as the euro is rising against the yuan, and the US

dollar is falling against the yuan, the two taken together can effectively make up for any losses, " Cheng was quoted as saying Wednesday. Cheng's remark sent the dollar to a fresh low against the euro as the market took it as a hint that China might diversify its massive foreign exchange reserves away from the US currency.

Neither Tang nor Cheng has a direct say in China's foreign exchange policies.

China's forex reserves, which overtook Japan's for the world's top spot in early 2006 and topped 1.43 trillion dollars in late September, have been boosted especially by the nation's huge trade surplus.

Those who have portrayed China as such a great place are now snacking on a generous plate of crow.

EVERYONE needs to take election fraud a lot more seriesly than they do. Hell, they don’t listen to us on the illegals, I suppose it’s no surprise they take a cavalier attitude toward the electoral process, except of course for the limitations on free speech embodied in the so-called “Campaign Finance Reform” of that a-hat McCain.

(He pushed that shiite for so many years, and when it finally went through it was nothing but a turkey.)

Brazil halted imports of toys. Wonder what would happen if US did that? It won’t happen - nobody will step up to plate but would be interesting to see, particularly with Christmas - EXCUSE ME - the Holiday season coming.

I heard that domestic American toy manufacturers can’t keep up with demand this year...cause people are so afraid to buy anything from China for their kids.

May I make a post and say.....I know where our Congress is. Setting up for Hearings to Impeach the Vice-President. China has her hands in everything going on in these United States. With Most Favored Nation Status, on Trade, China can virtually make the rules....witness the Chinese money flowing into the Hillary coffers, as in the past, flowed to the Bill. Well America got the bill, and now the Chinese are attempting to bring US the hellary.

Right you are to the Hellary. In conjunction with my pin head Governor Elliot "Red" Spitzer, wanting to give licenses to illegals....totally ignoring the Motor-Voter aspect of his new policy. It's madness.

Off topic...

Odd how the Fed LOWERED interest rates with a falling dollar. On the other hand, the Chicoms' value of dollars they own just went down with that move.

Odd how the Chicoms haven't floated the Yuan.

Inflation works both ways. I wonder who's economy can absorb the labor, and energy costs without capital depreciation.

Who knows, maybe some a$$hole democRAT wants to raise taxes at this particular time. Odd how democRATs think markets don't correct themselves.

Something is going on. Oil will not be PURCHASED in the near future at $96 per barrel. Too much inventory.

A strike on Iran will not close the Straits. Didn't in the '80's, won't now.

Lower dollar means higher exports and a lower trade deficit.

Something is going on...

Have also hard that’s true. Bought the book “Made in America” - listed several American made suppliers. Talked with one who says they’ve been working 24/7 for several months now, added to their staff, etc. Wonder if Matell has been paying any attention? Parents should consider things such as puzzles, books, paint sets, non-video games they can play with their kids, cool camera and photography lessons, a small trampoline, musical instrument, etc. Just finished making a doll for my grandaughter, including sewing up about 20 outfits for her. Lots of fun things to make for kids - people have forgotten how though. Children will not become society misfits if they don’t have everything advertised on TV.

regrettably it is a contrived madness, and most of the politicians know exactly where they intend to take us, whether Americans want to go or not....mho

I am not an economist, but this is how I see it. The attack on the Dollar is about assets. When you float your money - you had better have something to back it up. Lately we have been backing up our money with services, but as those services become available elsewhere cheaper, our dollar suffers. We need to increase our assets. We have a lot of them. but the environmentalist are blocking us from using them. We need to produce oil. We have a lot of it - we need to go get it!
