'EDUCATIONAL": That's how President Vladimir Putin's entourage described the Russian's recent whirlwind trip to Tehran.
Islamic Republic President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hyped the 36-hour visit as a "historic event." Some Western commentators even suggested that Putin and Ahmadinejad planned to create an axis to counter Western influence in the Middle East.

Ahmadinejad is his own worst enemy... what an idiot!
If that is, in fact the same guy in both pics, then I want whatever it is that keeps him from aging........We were married the day before the hostages were taken in ‘79. I was 24 then. I certainly don’t look like I did on my wedding day.....................
Late Great Planet Earth was Hal Lindsey, IIRC, not Nostradamus............not that there’s much difference.............

Putin has really put himself in a box here. The Russians have much more to fear from Iran than the USA in the short term. With Islamofascists in their southern regions such as Chechnya, the Ruskies can ill afford to piss off the mullahs. It has always been a mystery to me why the Russians would provide any help for Iran’s nuclear program. The hard currency they gain is more than offset by the potential that a nuke from Iran could be smuggled into Moscow and exploded. I think the runup in oil prics has allowed the Russians to distance themselves from the Iranians. Now that Putin has seen firsthand that the mullahs and President A-nut are not rational, he would be wise to not oppose more sanctions. However, the Iranians appear drunk on their oil wealth and poking the US in the eye, and they will not take kindly to Putin continuing to delay completion of Buesher nuclear plant. Of course the Chinese will not support any meaningful sanctions due to their lust for oil, so even if the Russians do not stand in the way of more sanctions, the Chinese will. Final thought is if Iran is attacked, oil goes to 150-200 a barrel and the Russians make out big time. They seem to be in the catbird’s seat, they win either way the Iran situation goes. If negotiation works, they get to build nuclear plants, sell arms to Iran, etc. If negotiation fails, oil spikes and Russia wins also.
Uhh, dont they do that just before they start a war?

I believe so, it’s like the last chance before we come for your head, or some such nonsense.

These are short, and best read in order:

I Learned a new word today. Eschatological, Webster says:a branch of theology concerned with the final events in the history of the world or of humankind.
I wonder if Putin knows that the "final event" IS the end of the world INCLUDING Russia! What a moron!
Thanks for the link!!
I don't know about that...maybe he realizes that a Iran-Chinese partnership is far more dangerous to Russia than if he jumps in bed with Ahmanutjob himself. Iran is just a pawn to China and/or Russia right now. They'll encourage and support Iran in their quest to wreak havoc with the west, even if that causes a major war. Either Russia or China will sit that one out (depending on who's the #1 friend on Iran's list) and then swoop in before the dust settles. They'll eliminate Iran once and for all and reap the dirty, bloody rewards. One big problem with that scenario...unless you're a raving lunatic (Ahmanutjob) what is there to gain with that result? There could nuclear fallout, devastated countries and dire consequences everywhere. Who wins in that case?
Red Badger’s right. The Nostradamus movie was “The Man Who Saw Tomorrow”.
Very interesting article. Thanks for posting link.
Putin has proclaimed his Christian faith.

Good, now let’s see him practice it!.........
That's the crux of the matter. Ahmadi-Hejab WANTS the world to end so his hidden Imam can pop out of the well!
He already paved a road from the well to Tehran for that purpose but never thought that there will be no motorcade or people to escort His Eminence, the Imam, to a Tehran that doesn't exist! LOL
That was "The Man Who Saw Through Time" or something like that. Narrated by Orsen Wells. Great bomb shot on New York. Great movie.
1978?
1979?
444 days of captivity??
I think it's one thing to hear about them, quite another to actually try to deal with them.
I can see the scene in my mind's eye ... maybe 6 hours in. "Well, Vladimir, what do you think?" "Sergei, these guys are nuts. They're f***ing loons. Holy crapski!"
