Ten Things the Republican Nominee Must Do [ and response: 'What Duncan Hunter Will Do']
The Duncan Hunter Grass Revolt ^ | 11/08/07 | Douglas MacKinnon (response by SK Johnson)

Posted on 11/08/2007 7:29:09 AM PST by thelastinkling

In response to this wonderful article, I am laying out how Duncan Hunter is the ONLY candidate to fulfill these 10 criteria.

1. Duncan Hunter has never fallen sway to political correctness. He has regularly been the Congressman going against the crowd, standing up for what’s best for the people, not for the increasingly moderate to liberal elite. He has never backed down on abortion, promising to send any judicial nominations through a litmus test to see if they can look at a sonargram and see the life of a human, before appointing them. When Ronald Reagan ran for president, we learned how strong conservatism is in this country and what happens when conservatives are inspired to do what’s right. Just the other day, we saw Bobby Jindal who appeared as “too conservative” have a flourishing victory in Louisiana. Conservatism wins when a conservative runs. All the candidates besides Congressman Hunter have been wish-woshy on at least a few key issues. Rudy Giuliani is pro-choice, pro-gay, and anti-gun. Fred Thompson is in favor of campaign finance reform, minimum wage increases, ‘path-to-citizenship’ for illegals, and is against a constitutional amendment to protect the unborn. Mitt Romney is the greatest flip-flop since John Kerry. Mike Huckabee supports the SCHIP, food regulations, ‘open door’ border policies, big public education, pandering to the NEA, federal funding for alternative fuel sources, and etc…. The list goes on and on. Duncan Hunter is consistent, and conservative, and will not apologize for his beliefs or his country

He needs to understand that as much as we need him he needs to cede to the inevitable and bow out of the race so a “conservative enough” candidate can take center stage with the base of the party and prevent the Rudy McRomney disaster and work on getting a cabinet or VP slot.

why don’t we have the “conservative enough” candidates bow out and throw their support to him?
btw, lets see what happens after tomorrow, where hunter will be on glen beck’s show.

or better yet, have the julie mcromnabee “NOT conservative enough” candidates back out. i’d love to see the primary consist of hunter, tancredo and thompson.

I am in my mind. As much as I’d like it, him winning the nod is about like the Packers winning the SB this year. A very slight possibility but not very likely.

Phyllis Shaffley outlined something similar at the Values Voter Summit....Duncan Hunter is the ONLY one that fits her “litmus test”.

"He needs to understand that as much as we need him he needs to cede to the inevitable and bow out of the race so a “conservative enough” candidate can take center stage with the base of the party and prevent the Rudy McRomney disaster and work on getting a cabinet or VP slot" NO WAY! The phonies need to bow out and step aside for the good of this country. The party's going down in flames if they keep up this crap. I wonder if they have any clue there is a rebellion underfoot. We're not drinking the koolade this year. Go, Hunter!

Realistic is understanding that the top tier isn’t going to get the job done. Hunter on the other hand, offers a clear choice and he’s virtually untouchable when it comes to democrat mudslinging.

This party will go down in flames if anyone but Fred or Hunter gets the win and at this point Fred is in the backstretch and Hunter is still in the first turn.

Rooty backers and such say we need to compromise the defeat Hillary et. al. and they are right just not about what the compromise should be. Hunter is a 9 and Fred an 8 I’ll take the sure 8 over the long shot 9 to keep the 2 and 3’s out of the picture.

“This is what the primaries are for!”

This is what Laura Ingraham was saying on her show yesterday, and she also said Duncan Hunter rocks!

She would be a good talk show to call.
