Here we go, you would have to define ‘conservative’ and then ‘RINO’.
It changes daily here.

Your evidence of Fred Thompson being a RINO is a BS article about a joke he made?
That’s interesting. Duncan supporter?

..and the alternative? Not vote and give Hildabeast the election. I guess we’ll show them huh. Watch for that sentiment to start to crawl around FReeperville.

Why is Fred Thompson on your list? Because he knows that embrace of a Federal Life Amendment would doom his candidacy? I’m having trouble thinking of anything else conservatives are mad at him about.

Well stated. I too am amazed FReepers that would support a RINO like Rudy McRomney. I'm not trumping up Thompson because I support him, but at least he follows the ideals of a conservative more than that 3-headed beast known as Rudy McRomney.

If you're going to call Thompson, Romney and Huckabee RINOs, according to that logic, here are some more -
Duncan Hunter is a RINO.
Newt Gingrich is a RINO.
Bob Dole is a RINO.
Barry Goldwater is a RINO.
George W. Bush is a RINO.
Ronald Reagan is a RINO.
Abraham Lincoln? He was a RINO too.
Republican National Committee? Bunch of RINOs!
rface? Big RINO. RINOs everywhere. RINO RINO RINO!

Hmmm.... Maybe a Republicrat party should be formed and fashioned for the moderates of both parties. It would be interesting to see if the far right and left could compete.

Actually, most Republicans realize that the most intractable rock-ribbed conservative candidate is NOT always the one who can win general elections.
I'm sure it pains you (and me also) to admit that the key to winning in 2008 is to pick the MOST conservative candidate as possible ... who also has the resources, the personality, the financial support, the likability, and the personal ethics to get 51-percent of the vote in the general election.
Unfortunately, the most conservative candidate does not always mean the best candidate.
It's really that simple.
There is a point, of course, for myself and for most Republicans that even the most likable Republican candidate is unacceptable ... if they betray too many conservative-GOP principals.
To me, Guliani falls in that camp.
Mitt Romney, on the other hand, supports and exudes many of the great conservative virtues that made the GOP a great patriotic party.
Is Romney perfect? No.
No candidate is perfect. (Reagan passed amnesty in 1986, and raised taxes in 1987, passed a pro-abortion plan in CA in 1967, and did nothing when the US Marines were attacked in Lebanon in 1983)
Still, many people see him as the ultimate conservative Republican candidate.
Thus it will be with Romney, I believe.
