RINOs have infested the GOP, and for that matter FreeRepublic. I am sure that there is a certain level of RINO infestation that can be lived with, but our Institutions are being over-run by these vermin.
The polls that show up on the bottom of the FreeRepublic page consistently show too much support for RINOs, and this is just unacceptable. I mean how can it be that RINOs like McCain, Romney, Ron Paul and Giuliani (among others) get so much Freeper support. I am not sure what we can, or should, do to eliminate this problem, but there has to be some sort of ultimate solution.
It seems like a consensus has emerged here that many here seem to agree with, and it goes something like: "There is no difference between [insert liberal Democrat Name here] and [insert RINO Name here], so it will do the GOP and Conservatism a great service to NOT support the RINO and let the LIBERALs have the election. I mean, theres no difference between them, and it will help the conservative movement, by showing how Liberalism and RINOism will destroy America."
Maybe for a start ..I might suggest that there be a grand list of RINOs that deserve NO support and that those on the list be PURGED in one fashion or another. I am trying to provide links to support my charges of RINO status.
Pat Robinson ...... McCain ....... Romney
Ron Paul...... Senator Coleman (MN)...... Senator Kit Bond (MO)
Giuliani ....... Mike Huckabee ..... Sen. George V. Voinovich
Sen. Collins ...... Senator Snowe ...... Sen. Hagel
Sen. John W. Warner ...... Senator Hatch (UT)..... Senator Lott (MS)
Senator Specter (PA) ..... Arnold Schwarzenegger ..... Senator Graham (SC)
Senator Lugar (IN) ...... Senator Kyl (AZ) ..... Senator Martinez (FL) ......
I am sure I could make this list hugely BIG like probably 10X this big ..... but I think I should let other FRepers join in so we can purge those RINOs for good!
Have you ever seen a RINO drink a glass of water?
Sure! Get Rid of everyone who disagrees with you, and then everything you say will be true!
Hmmm.... Maybe a Republicrat party should be formed and fashioned for the moderates of both parties. It would be interesting to see if the far right and left could compete.
Sounds about right.
Sounds like a trick right out of Hillary's bag there.
I'm sure it pains you (and me also) to admit that the key to winning in 2008 is to pick the MOST conservative candidate as possible ... who also has the resources, the personality, the financial support, the likability, and the personal ethics to get 51-percent of the vote in the general election.
Unfortunately, the most conservative candidate does not always mean the best candidate.
It's really that simple.
There is a point, of course, for myself and for most Republicans that even the most likable Republican candidate is unacceptable ... if they betray too many conservative-GOP principals.
To me, Guliani falls in that camp.
Mitt Romney, on the other hand, supports and exudes many of the great conservative virtues that made the GOP a great patriotic party.
Is Romney perfect? No.
No candidate is perfect. (Reagan passed amnesty in 1986, and raised taxes in 1987, passed a pro-abortion plan in CA in 1967, and did nothing when the US Marines were attacked in Lebanon in 1983)
Still, many people see him as the ultimate conservative Republican candidate.
Thus it will be with Romney, I believe.
That's pretty much what we have with the Republicans right now being 99% RINOS. Same goes with the old Democrats being taken over by the far left, someone like Zell Miller or Joe Lieberman would represent maybe 1% of what their party used to stand for.
Anybody able to even eke out 5% of the vote? Even if 100% of all FReepers were to support Hunter, he'd not even reach 4%.
Fred Thompson is not as 'perfect' as Duncan Hunter, but at least he has a shot at winning the nomination. He does NOT deserve to be on the same list with Rooty.
Yep, the Republican Party has been moving to the left for years now.
If you want to accelerate that movement to the left--so that we can FINALLY achieve the LIBERAL NIRVANA of TWO political parties BOTH to the left of center (while destroying what's left of the CONSERVATIVE IDENTITY of the Republican Party)...
a LIBERAL like Rudy is the RIGHT MAN AT THE RIGHT TIME!!!
To me, Guliani falls in that camp.
Mitt Romney, on the other hand, supports and exudes many of the great conservative virtues that made the GOP a great patriotic party.
I'd agree with most everything except the last paragraph. I think if you substitute Fred Thompson's name for Mitt Romney, we'd be in agreeance 100%. Can you tell me why you prefer Romney over Thompson? Romney seems to want to be all things to all people, and the last person running for president that sounded like was John F Kerry.
Wow.
RUMSFELD: "You have to go to war with the army you've got, not the one you want!"
Soldiers do not leave the battle field in a hissy fit while their brethren turn to corpses!
I really hope before the Iowa Caucuses, Hunter can be a big enough man and realize he cannot win in 2008, and will team up and support Thompson, and be a part of his administration. If they form that kind of alliance now, most conservatives would jump on board, and then Romney, McCain would fall by the wayside. Leaving Rudy vs. Thompson/Hunter. Then it would be a Conservative vs. RINO and that would be great to see Rudy struggle to TRY to be more conservative even knowing it would be smoke and mirrors, and he would then realize he was running for the wrong party, and should have run as a Democrat.
Hunter voted for CFR? Oh, I’m going to have to look that up.
