I find it amazing that a Communist country is able to recognize the dangers of the HOLY BIBLE more than the christians of this world do; Afterall it's sharper than any two-edged sword, and will live FOREVER.This ban should prove to everyone that this book is not a BOOK but a weapon, and should not be handled lightly or treated as just ink and paper. It's the "Mother of all Weapons"and makes men FREE.God HIMSELF wrote it through men and be careful when you read it, as the words of the Bible will burn in your hearts. In fact after I heard about this ban I realized that China has more respect and regard for The Bible than most of the Born-again christians in the Church. They know that if people become contaminated by the words in the BIBLE they will become a free person because "whom the SON sets free ,is free indeed".God already told us that "Heaven and earth will pass away but My WORD will remain".Wow sounds like a pretty dangerous book and we should celebrate this ban as a validation of how incredible wonderful this Bible and how awfully dangerous it is to satan, the god of this world. No wonder it gets banned.
Welcome to Free Republic. It is customary to post links to your news stories. Can you do that?
I had heard this on another blog....
where is the proof? Where is the link?
And yet they make Christmas decorations.
Making and using are 2 totally different things :)
Not to be a CRITIC, but putting certain WORDS in ALL CAPS is very ANNOYING for the reader and makes your WRITING seem CHILDISH and IMMATURE sort of like adding lots!!!!!! of exclamation marks!!!!!!!!
If what you’re saying can’t stand on its own, no amount of window dressing is going to help it. Distracting the reader can certainly hinder your message being communicated though.
MHO...
Considering you can buy Bibles in the bookstores in China, and you can attend Christian churches, and the cable TV carries Christian broadcasting, I find this story pretty darn suspect...
And yes, I do spend a lot of time in China, have purchased a Chinese Bible (I gave it to a family friend here in the US who fled to Taiwan as a Captain for Chang Kai Chek, then made it to the US), attended evangelical services in China, and watched the Christian broadcasting - in English, from the 80s and 90s - on the state owned cable system while sitting in a hotel in Suzhou.
Man what a dumb move for China. They should just have their own version with their own interpretation and start their own denomination. Then they could pass out their bogus version at the Olympics, get converts and send out apologists to the world to argue that their interpretation is actually the most correct. /s
I wonder about this story, and now about the poster
A hit and run poster.
IBTZ (and paragraphs are your friends)
You sound like you might know:
I’m living out the book of Job chapter-by-chapter. I feel as if God is both hurting and healing me.
My legs have become very weak and my theigh bones are burning. When does this end; and does this suffering phase usually end- with a bang or a whimper?
I see you are already here.
Was just gonna ping ya for the sniff test.
never mind, there is a link in #14..
As I thought... When told in English in China to not “bear” something, they mean do not wear. So the ban - per this story - is on religious symbols on your person. It does not mean you cannot bring a Bible.
One thing you can rest assured - if the Chinese do enforce this, you’ll see it enforced equally, meaning no crosses, no cresents, no stars of David, no religious symbols for anyone.
However, I’d still like to see the original Chinese statement, and I haven’t been able to find it anywhere. I still suspect this story is bogus...
