Well yes, all things being equal, a Gov’s race is usually (perhaps discounted the Mayoralties of NYC and LA) considered more important than a mayor’s race.

The GOP is in deep deep trouble, do not let the Jindal victory fool you.
Deep deep trouble.

One good sign...the UAW union rep at our polling place (in PA) was handing out REPUBLICAN sample ballots :^)

There is nothing about the Bobby Jindal win in Louisiana that should fool anyone. Not even the fact that he did it in the first primary. Intelligent Louisianians voted for Jindal four years ago, but the political machines in New Orleans hauled minorities to the polls and told them to vote for Kathleen Blanco. Probably compensated them too. \

Hurricane Katrina exposed her incompetence not only to the people of Louisiana but to the entire nation. This time the minorities were not in New Orleans in sufficient numbers to allow the Dems to steal the election even if they had run a suitable candidate.

Now we are looking forward to retiring Mary Landrieu to the roll of full time homemaker in her million dollar Georgetown mansion in DC. She has never been in touch with the people of Louisiana that work for a living. She will be defeated without the thousands of minority votes no longer in New Orleans.

Yes, these are nice little victories but meaningless as far as 2008, when HRC could duplicate LBJ’s 44-state sweep from 44 years earlier.
