The Thompson team has decided to not pursue sponsorship of the CRA convention after CRA President and Mitt Romney supporter Mike Spence pulled the Thompson campaign’s confirmed Saturday evening dinner sponsorship and gave it to Mitt Romney’s campaign. The CRA membership continues to exhibit the conservative values we need in California and we are greatly indebted to the hard work that so many in the CRA continue to strive towards. However, we are greatly disappointed that President Mike Spence has chosen to put his personal politics above the integrity of the CRA.
The Thompson team looks forward to talking with CRA members and leaders about Senator Thompson at the CRA convention and to fighting hard for the endorsement of its rank and file members. Senator Thompson has consistently demonstrated consistent conservative values with a 100% pro-life Senate record and we believe there is a very close alignment to the historical beliefs of the CRA.

Mike Spence is president of the California Republican Assembly, which calls itself the conscience of the Republican Party.
I assume that CRA is either the California Rifle Association, or the Community Reinvestment Act.
If you are Cal. Rifle Association, you should fit in well around here, but we do like some sort of links or explanation in posts, including vanity posts. “Newbies” do well to identify themselves in early postings so as not to seem to be trolling.
