If that were so, how come shamnesty and the recent "Dream Act" were shot down? Politicians pandering is nothing new, but when their base is in an uproar besides a bunch of moderates and independents are also against it, they figure out which side of the bread gets buttered.
The shamnesty bill was shot down mostly by conservatives, who usually sit quietly and do their work. The license idea in NY may get moderates involved, but it doesn’t change the fact the most of these liberal pols are bought, owned and sold by ethnic front groups.
I don’t know why you’re on about moderates. Your initial response to my first (slightly sarcastic) post seems like a bit of a non sequitor. That said, do you understand why I am totatally skeptical of ANY politician doing ANYTHING that doesn’t pander to the Offended Victim Lobby? After so many years of this garbage I expect politicians to always do exactly the oppositie of what is in the best interest of our country.

The Dem candidates have a very big problem. They have already sold their souls to the illegal alien lobby. They have promised them eventual citizenship, welfare, etc. They are counting on the millions of votes they will get from these future citizens. But now it appears that the vast majority of the present citizenry, including democrat rank and file, upon which they must rely to continue in power are opposed to the these efforts to give away America. So what to do. They just don’t know. It is a pathetic that the republicans are hamstrung to gain much from this situation as their leader is perceived as the biggest illegal alien promoter in the land.
