It is not going to be a train wreck in 2008.

Frankly, I think the chances of a Republican victory are fairly good. But I was predicting big ‘Pubbie wins in 2006, so take it for what it is worth.

In any case, it is no time for whining and crying and threatening to take your ball and go home. If the ‘Pubbies were out of it, we would all be free to indulge our childish selves. But since it looks like it is going to be a race, we should at least try to win it.

Um, maybe I’m out of line here, but isn’t there a Republican sitting in the president’s chair... And yet, he is leaving the borders wide open.

True enough. But the election will (probably) be between Sen. Clinton and the Republican nominee, not GWB: what this does is make it more likely that the 'pubby won't follow in Bush's footsteps on the matter.

Um, maybe I’m out of line here, but isn’t there a Republican sitting in the president’s chair. And can’t he secure the border with the military anytime he wants. And yet, he is leaving the borders wide open.

Yep, and the Reps would be wise to run against that policy, which has been in place since RR granted amnesty in 1986. What we do know is that Hillary and the Dems are in favor of continuing that policy and granting amnesty to the 12 to 20 million illegals already here. The 2008 election is about the future, not the past.

Dont get too excited...

We are a year from the election...

Anything can happen

President GWH Bush had a popularity of more than 90% during the Gulf War, but a year later he had low numbers and he lost his 1992 re-election bid...

You are right. It is the only thing that makes sense, given everything that is going on.

Between them, the 9-11 hijackers had 63 validly issued driver's licenses.

Eight of them were even registered to vote in American elections.

Under federal "motor voter" law, anyone receiving a driver's license automatically may register to vote.

Nothing but the "honesty" of illegal aliens prevents them from breaking one more law, and voting in American elections.

And Hillary Clinton thinks we should give driver's licenses to illegal aliens.

I wonder why?

The public’s memory is very short. The rats, “moderate” or otherwise, like voting themselves money. They will vote for Hillary. The independents? Hmmm. We shall see, but the president is certainly not helping the situation by his stance on illegals.

With regard to illegal immigration, the debacle in New York State caused by Governor Elliot Spitzer’s insistence on giving illegal aliens a driver’s license seems to have been the proverbial straw that has broken the camel’s back.

They may yet elect the next President of the United States, but not in the way this guy is thinking...

>>make it more likely that the 'pubby won't follow in Bush's footsteps on the matter.<<

Would anyone that is seriously considering the seat of POTUS want to go in front of a microphone and say they plan on continuing the job this president started? Have we heard anyone even insinuate they want to follow in his footsteps?

Humiliate the bitch. Send her packing.

Yes, she can always go to Beijing. She'd feel right at home there.
And she can take filthy, treasonous scumbag bill clinton with her.
