Retired Lt. Col. Joe Repya will be joining the Fred Thompson campaign. Repya has taken a National position and will help head up the Vets for Fred arm of the campaign. Repya held a similar position with President Bush in 2004, and has been on the wish list for the Republican candidates in the 2008 cycle.
With 2 months to go until the voting begins in the POTUS sweepstakes, Fred! is gathering strength and gathering his troops for battle. Repya will bring with him experience and knowledge that has been called upon by the current Commander in Chief.
If you are in the GOP camp who feels they must choose the lesser of two evils RINOs in Romney or Rudy, I urge you not to give up on Fred! And for petes sake dont you dare think McCain is an acceptable alternative. All three of them are in fact Big Government Republicans or Liberal on core conservative issues.
"Im reminded of the quote by Patrick Henry on how judging a persons past is a good indicator of their future actions. Fred Thompson is the only Republican Presidential Candidate that has consistently been on the side of Pro-Life, Pro-Second Amendment, Pro-Marriage, and Pro-Legal Immigration! He is the candidate that all Republicans can vote for and know that he will remain true to our principles and values. said Repya.Fred! is a federalist, limited Government candidate who believes in winning the war on terror. He may not meet your slick campaign standards yet or tell you what you want to hear with a smirk or a smile, but on the issues, hes right!, far more than the others.
Airborne! to that.
Repya is a heavy hitter here in MN. He seems to know just about everybody and is well liked. I’m glad to see him backing Fred.
Repya’s “I’m Tired” e-mail:
Two weeks ago, as I was starting my sixth month of duty in Iraq, I was forced to return to the USA for surgery for an injury I sustained prior to my deployment. With luck, I’ll return to Iraq in January to finish my tour. I left Baghdad and a war that has every indication that we are winning, to return to a demoralized country much like the one I returned to in 1971 after my tour in Vietnam. Maybe it’s because I’ll turn 60 years old in just four months, but I’m tired:
I’m tired of spineless politicians, both Democrat and Republican who lack the courage, fortitude, and character to see these difficult tasks through.
I’m tired of the hypocrisy of politicians who want to rewrite history when the going gets tough.
I’m tired of the disingenuous clamor from those that claim they “Support the Troops” by wanting them to “Cut and Run” before victory is achieved.
I’m tired of a mainstream media that can only focus on car bombs and casualty reports because they are too afraid to leave the safety of their hotels to report on the courage and success our brave men and women are having on the battlefield.
I’m tired that so many American’s think you can rebuild a dictatorship into a democracy over night.
I’m tired that so many ignore the bravery of the Iraqi people to go to the voting booth and freely elect a Constitution and soon a permanent Parliament.
I’m tired of the so called “Elite Left” that prolongs this war by giving aid and comfort to our enemy, just as they did during the Vietnam War.
I’m tired of anti-war protesters showing up at the funerals of our fallen soldiers. A family who’s loved ones gave their life in a just and noble cause, only to be cruelly tormented on the funeral day by cowardly protesters is beyond shameful.
I’m tired that my generation, the Baby Boom - Vietnam generation, who have such a weak backbone that they can’t stomach seeing the difficult tasks through to victory.
I’m tired that some are more concerned about the treatment of captives then they are the slaughter and beheading of our citizens and allies.
I’m tired that when we find mass graves it is seldom reported by the press, but mistreat a prisoner and it is front page news.
Mostly, I’m tired that the people of this great nation didn’t learn from history that there is no substitute for Victory.
Sincerely,
Joe Repya
Lieutenant Colonel
U. S. Army

Whew. I like that guy!
Indianhead! Second to None! Go Fred!
*BUMP*
Great post Sturm!
I remember receiving that email forwarded by a friend either early this year, or late last year. I remember also thinking how much good sense the author made. I didn’t know who the author was at the time, but now I do. Thanks
Do you support General Petraeus? He has a disciplined strategy to pacify Iraq. Mitt Romney has a disciplined strategy to unify the Republican Party, and then defeat the Democrats. His appeal is to all Republicans, not one faction in a big tent.
Thompson’s campaign depends on a divided party to win the nomination. On the other hand, Mitt Romney has the policies, charisma, a track record of winning in a liberal state and the money to win. His run for the nomination emphasizes strength and unity. After winning the nomination, he has promised to run a Presidential campaign in every state, ceding nothing to the Democrats, they will have to defend a broad front.
As to the endorsement of Repya, he may be a fine warrior, but he is not a campaign strategist. He also may not be aware that only Romney has a plan to expand our military.
I know that you are committed to Fred and will not back down. I would simply ask that Fred Heads refrain from personal attacks on other candidates or their supporters.
While you may consider it an insult to compare Fred to Bob Dole, it is a very fair analogy. I like Bob Dole, Bob Dole is a great American, he is just not competitive in the National Arena.
You may also consider it an insult that I have named Fred as the vanity candidate of the NRA. I could be wrong, but many Fred Boosters have a gun totin’ screen name. This is probably just a coincidence.
You’re talking about a guy who has spent millions of dollars so far in this campaign, and yet has failed to attract widespread support.
Romney is the Bill Clinton of the GOP. He will say anything to anyone to get elected. He’s taken more sides on the same issues than Hanoi John Kerry.
I’m sure Mitt’s a good guy, but he’s too slick for his own political good, and too many people will just never trust him to be our commander in chief.
Nice try, though...
Excellent.

Whoa! A "gun totin screen name"? That's no coincidence, honey, that's a conspiracy!
I urge you to contact the New York Times and CBS! ASAP!
You’re not here to help any campaign but the one you’re supporting. If you’re fooling anyone, it’s yourself.
He who lives in glass houses...and all that.
Your insults are in line with supporting a RINO.
You and your candidate insult the name of Reagan every time you use it in the same sentence as myth romney.
“I am not a Reagan Bush supporter. I DON’T WANT to take us back those times.”
How soon we forget.
I might add to his list - I’m tired of the elected leaders of this country, both Democrat and Republican, spending our tax dollars like drunken sailors. (no offense to drunken sailors)
I have information that Fred has tapped Joe Repya of Minnesota to head his "Veterans Coalition." Joe, 61, is a retired US Army LTC, and a recent Iraqi Veteran. At the age of 58, in 2005, Joe served in Iraq with the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Airborne Division.
Thompson will announce his national veteran's coalition at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the State House in Columbia, SC and then hold a meet and greet event at 2:20 p.m. at Beef O'Brady's in Fort Mill. The restaurant is at 940 Market St., Suite 110.
