This is exactly what pisses me off about the absolutionist crowd.

By throwing their tantrum...we get something much worse than a good solid pro-life Federalist position that would do MORE to further the pro-life cause than either electing Hillary, or supporting a “perfect” pro-lifer that just is NOT going to win. Not, not, not going to win, no matter how much they jump up and down and stomp their feet.

Yeah we're jumping up and down and stomping our feet because we want a solid, strong pro-life candidate who believes it to his very soul!!!...

..and that's not negotiable!

Yes, they end up undermining what’s most important to them. What exactly do they think will happen under President Hillary?

I am ardently Prolife, but I also recognize the practicality of the situation we are in.

I’m not sure I agree with you. This is a terribly important issue to a lot of people, not THE most important but right up there near the top.

I think Fred was wrong to make the statements he made, perhaps he will review and revise in a few days.

One poster said that the constitution does not mention murder, but in fact it does by guaranteeing everyone the right to LIFE. No state has the right to not protect it’s citizens from murder. If life begins at conception then no state has the right to kill the unborn. His logic on this subject is flawed.

To answer those who say that this is a states rights issue I say only in part, the states can decide what the penalty is for taking life but they have to do something to protect it.

Fred has stumbled on this issue, if he is the nominee I will vote for him but it will not be as easy as it would have been last week.

There are still candidates who support a total ban on abortion, they just went up a couple of notches in my book.

When will you guys realize one cannot be just a little bit pregnant? Either you are or you aren’t. Same with a stand on abortion - either you are all for it or you are all against it. It is a sin or it isn’t! There is no in between, and from what I can understand from the meandering wordy platitudes that emanate from your candidate, he is definitely in between!

“This is exactly what pisses me off about the absolutionist crowd.”

This is what angers me about the wishy washy anyone but the Demonrat crowd.

While we vote for pro-death candidates like Bush and Thompson millions of babies are being slaughtered, sanctioned by our government. If we had doctors paid to go into kindergartens and ripping the legs of 2 million 5 year olds, getting paid big money, completely “legal”, would you think that would be the most important issue? Wouldn’t you settle for compromise on that issue?

True. But, the fact remains that this is going to drive many pro-lifers to Huckabee, who likely has no chance of winning the nomination because of his liberal stances on other issues. That, in turn, paves the way for Giuliani or, at best, Romney to take the nomination.

I blame Fred for that. It's just dumb to alienate a voting block you need to win the nomination over amendments that likely won't ever pass.
