* State assistance for families of Polish soldiers killed and injured in Iraq * 04.11.2007
The widow of the Polish soldier who was killed in Iraq on Friday has been awarded a life pension and special allowances to cover the costs of education of their two children. A government spokesman said that decisions on the form of assistance to the families of three other soldiers who suffered injuries in the attack will be taken on Monday. One of them lost an arm. 31 year-old Corporal Andrzej Filipek died after a mine explosion hit a Polish convoy. He is the 27th Polish victim of the Iraqi operation.
Standing up for the Families of the Fallen is the Honorable thing to Do.
I Salute You Poland!
Good nation, great ally in the WOT. Tough for the wife and kids.
BTW,lizol,I read that Poland just had a change of government. Is the new government more left wing...more closely aligned with Brussels....than was the previous government?
Juncoya..My Polish Friends..
May all our warriors be blessed. All of those, from throughout the world, who are in the Middle East to stamp out this evil at its core.
We pray for God’s mercy on those injured and maimed. Lord, help them to recover to be stronger the ever. Instill in them Your strength of will, faith, and Your love to overcome all obstacles in their lives.
We also pray for those that have gone on to be with You, Lord. We know they are whole now, as never before in their earthly bodies. No pain, no fear, only Your joy, forever.
Amen.
The new government probably will be actually more closely aligned with Brussels.
But as to being “more left wing” - it depends.
As far as economy is concerned - the you’d find the outgoing government far more leftist than the new future one (at least having in mind their declarations).
On the other hand - the outgoing government was probably more conservative as far as social and moral issues are concerned.
