It’s clear to me that free-thinking, rational, honest conservatives will side with Hunter. Everyone else is either compromising their principles based on the false premise that only a liberal Republican can win, giving their support based on fear, or are simply liberals pretending to be conservatives.

Ah, it must be incredibly satisfying believing so much in your own moral superiority. And in doing so, you put yourself in quite a select group, what with Hunter's poll standing.

I have no objection to Mr. Hunter (other than his poor campaign management). Some of his supporters, though, are laughable.

I admire your passion. If I could wave a magic wand, Duncan Hunter would be our next president. But I'm a pragmatist. The bottom line is that Hunter is a second tier candidate. I will vote for the GOP nominee.

You would be foolish to throw your vote away once the Republican candidate is selected. Otherwise, you'll be helping the Dems gain control of the oval office. Any of the first tier candidates would be preferable to a Dem.

I strongly disagree with his anti-free trade stance. Isolationism helped spark the Great Depression.

All the candidates have their problems in this go-around I'm afraid. In my eyes we don't have anyone running the caliber of Bush43 or Reagan, or even Bush 41. Looks like the best we can hope for is some kind of Nixon, who wasn't bad, but was no Reagan or Bush43.

Hunter would destroy the economy with his protectionist trade policies. Fred's in and out, I don't think he has the stamina for this. Rudy doesn't have a healthy respect for private property. Huckabee and Romney cowtow to liberals too often. McCain has turned on the Constitution with his demogoguing CFR through the government and I will write-in if he's the nominee.

Who's to like if you're a conservative who believes in free trade, private property rights, low flat taxes, the second amendment, the war on terrorism, Christian principles? I don't see anyone to get excited over.
