Why Duncan Hunter needs to be our Next President
Marc the Infidel ^ | 11/3/07 | Marc

I am publicly stating who I support for the 2008 Republican nominee for President, California Representative, Duncan Hunter. Why? The reasons are many but the primary underlying reason is, he better than any other candidate, be they Republican or Democrat, at understand the world landscape both economically and politically. His over all goal is a stronger more protected America.

Hunter, more than any other name on the ballot, is a student of history, not just recent history, he, as they say, sees the big picture. Unlike politicians of the past who have given away the American Dream as a good faith gesture to the world, Hunter wants to protect what is ours. On a regular basis, we always seems to be the ones extending the olive branch to the world only to have it stepped on.

In recent weeks he has spoken out harshly about the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) as it gives US sovereignty of the sea to (gulp) the UN. Hunter stated that:

“It is imperative that our nation does not surrender decision making power for military navigation or resource extraction, especially in this age of terrorism with technology and weapons proliferation. And adding a new set of UN bureaucrats with license to tax and adjudicate disputes is the last thing this country needs.” … ”Rest assured no treaty that infringes on the sovereignty of the United States, or further empowers the United Nations, will get anything but a trip to the waste basket in a Hunter Administration.”

See what I mean? This guy “gets it”!

He is the only candidate who consistently sees China as someone we should be cautious of, while everyone else sees China as a former Communist nation on the brink of democracy. Other see their exploding market as a potential for American big business to blossom, while Hunter sees the same thing, he is thinking of America first, the business executives second.

Just today he released a press release in which he publicly calls on Mitt Romney, founder of Bain Capital and Republican presidential candidate, to put an end to a business deal with a Chinese company who is negociating for the acquisition of US defense conractor 3COM. The kicker here is that the founder of this company is an officer of the Peoples Liberation Army of Communist China and is being accused of providing Saddam Hussein with the technology to target US aircraft and helping the Taliban develop surveillance equipment.

Hunter said to Romney in writing;

“I am extremely concerned that Governor Romney’s company would tout a highly suspect Chinese corporation as a strategic partner,” stated Hunter. “Forming a business partnership with a corporation known to have direct ties with terrorists and dictators while, at the same time, openly seeking to acquire a major U.S. corporation that performs vital cyber security work for the Department of Defense, can only be characterized as irresponsible.”

What other candidate would step out and do the right thing like this? Duncan Hunter does his homework, that is what will make him a very effective POTUS. This wasn’t a political ploy, this was Hunter looking out for America, for you and me.

The more you read about him, the more, I am sure, you will realize that he sees things the way most Amiercans do.

Actually I TOTALLY disagree with you..

As is your right but I totally disagree with you as I think if the party voters were happy with Hunter they’d be over in his camp by larger numbers than they are..... We’ll see where they land starting in 60 days...

Ifa’s, coulda’s and woulda’s.........

elect the ONLY conservative in the race (DUNCAN HUNTER) -— than we (THE GOP) and as a nation in general will get exactly what we deserve for “selling our souls to the devil”... President HildaBeast — will lead us toward the Battle of Armageddon

So now Duncan Hunter (not in all-caps) is the guy to save us from Armageddon????

Wow.

David, you are seriously unhinged.

LOL, you obviously need to read your Bible my FRiend... Duncan Hunter or any other human being on this earth does not “save us” from anything.. I believe that God is in control of His calendar not us.. I was simply making a comparison of world events with Biblical prophecy....... I have no idea WHEN the Battle of Armageddon will take place, God only knows, but he did leave us with some pretty good indications if you take the time to read it.. I will be happy to attempt to discuss Biblical prophecy in more detail, but I am sure there are others on FR far more qualified than I.

you obviously need to read your Bible my FRiend

And you might try understanding yours.

See, here you glorify Hunter with all-caps:

ONLY conservative in the race (DUNCAN HUNTER)

Yet here, you do not refer to God in all-caps:

I believe that God is in control

That kind of indicates a preference. Me, it's just too early in the game to start worshipping candidates.

Enjoy yourself, though.

Please keep the discussion about the candidates, not your ego, some other poster’s ingnorance, or someone’s arrogance or such.

Absolutely, the in fighting is getting ridiculous. Intelligent arguments could be made for supporting numerous candidates. I can hardly stand to read these threads. They always seem to deteriorate into personal attacks very quickly.

well its nice to know that the person who shares my opinion is ........”always right”

I feel vindicated.

So, apart from the fact that Hunter isn’t high in the poll numbers, is he for real? Or does he have some skeletons or such that just have not been brought out?

As far as conspiracies go, I do believe that the liberal media does focus their attention on the centrist Republicans, and the sheeple don’t see it. So the sheeple are driven into the camps of folks like guliana and such.

“We desperately need a Rudy Scream like the famous Dean Scream ..”

There’s time. Howard Dean was 43% in the polls in Dec. ‘03 and John Kerry was 13% in ‘03, so it shows you what one mistake can do.

Then John Kerry went down to 4%, which shows us anything, but anything, can happen in politics. :)

Hunter is a second tier candidate.

I think that is:

I think Hunter is by far the front runner. You check his record and he has not wavered, tired, faltered, or failed the Conservative way. I thought folks didn't like people who flip flop. How come folks from Massachusetts flip flop so much? I thought people wanted some bedroom morality. How do you think Rudy stacks up to Clinton in the department? And McCain is a honorable old warrior. Although, have you seen his RINO moments.

I have never seen Hunter experience a RINO moment. We need to get his name out and he needs help with money. The RINOs in the RNC need to see that they need the Conservative base to win. The people deserve a choice.

What kind of a choice do we have:

If it's a gun grabbing, gay agenda advocating, illegal alien supporting abortionist liberal vs a gun grabbing, gay agenda advocating, illegal alien supporting abortionist liberal in the general election, who do you vote for?

I don't vote the way the media tells us to vote. I vote my conscience. And in my conscience, Hunter is the front Hunter.

One day, Hunter's head will be next to Reagan's on Mount Rushmore.

As more people get a chance to see Hunter's profile, and what he has worked for all these years, they will see he really is the right guy for the job this time around.
None can equal him on the national security issues and his combined conservative views. One must have patience in these things. And meanwhile the demowits are hacking their last chances at any credibility to shreds. Many independents will be looking closely at just who are the best choices. I believe Duncan will at least be given a fair view.
