Ellison is a complete and utter liar.

If I am not mistaken, his religion allows the faithful to lie to unbelievers, the future dhimmis.

Do Liberal Dumbocrates campaign more in states with lax voter registration/voter ID requirements?

If you are personally known by your poll workers and those workers are honest and diligent, I have no problem with not requiring an ID. This is the way it was done in North Dakota, where I grew up.

But the sad reality is that few places are as honest as North Dakota anymore. Especially the places where they are objecting to photo ID's-- like Ellison's district. This is why it would be better to require even honest places to check ID's for appearance sake, if nothing else. The alternative would be to dip your index finger into indelible ink third world style. Even that is more honest than the way elections are run in New Orleans, Philadelphia and certain other cities.

Maybe I'm wrong, but my impression is that most Freepers oppose a national ID for US citizens.

We already have one for citizens.

Any others would just create another issue that liberals thrive on to create another issue to fix and the band plays on and on.

Especially the places where they are objecting to photo ID's-- like Ellison's district.

It's the objection to it that gets my attention to focus on as to why.

I go to the local mart and use a credit card several times a week and just by dictate they look at my I.D. while welcoming me back. I don't have a problem with it for it's for my own protection for them to verify that it is actually me.

Good!

It makes it easier for me to maintain a high personal credit rating.

When voting, THAT is our country's sovereignty at stake and should be (IMO) a greater concern.

To see an elected lawmaker trying to promote making it easier to breach voting scrutiny with impunity scares the he!! out of me.

What is a politicians agenda if it isn't protecting the sovereignty of our nation?

It's for all of our own protection to verify and hold on to the greatest Constitutional right. The right of a citizen to vote and not to have their vote negated by fraud.

Hillary wrote this bill to try to ban photo ID - its a 4:1 ratio in polls for support/oppose, but they ARE Democrats, afterall.

If it were me I wouldn't like it.

The liberal dogma dictates that we are a progressive society and thus in their minds it makes all we believe in and hold sacred a living and breathing entity.

This emotional mindset that liberals tote will be the destruction of all we stand for if it's let run "amuck".

A valid social security card and a valid drivers license that 99% of concerned and hard working citizens used to tote.

Nowadays I 'spose that percentage has dropped considerably from 99%.

a valid drivers license

We don't have a national drivers license. They are issued by the individual states.

the Real ID law seeks to make the STANDARDS for ID’s and licenses uniform throughout the nation.

In addition, citizens are free to use a US Passport to establish ID.

It is also worth noting that states with voter ID requirements may use provisional ballot methods or bring a testamentary witnss (IOW they lift their right hand and swear/affirm under penalty of perjury as to your ID) in order to vote. No cost there.

Absentee ballots do not require ID to vote.
