CHICAGO: If elected president, Senator Barack Obama would meet with Iran's leaders and offer economic inducements and a possible promise not to seek "regime change" if Iran stopped meddling in Iraq and cooperated on terrorism and nuclear issues.
In an hour-long interview on Wednesday, Obama made clear that forging a new relationship with Iran would be a major element of a broad effort to stabilize Iraq. And he vowed to engage in "aggressive personal diplomacy" with Iran and other regional powers as he withdrew American combat forces in Iraq.
Obama said that Iran had been "acting irresponsibly" by supporting Shiite militant groups in Iraq. He also stressed that Tehran's suspected nuclear weapons program and its support for "terrorist activities" were serious concerns and that "we expect them to desist from those actions."
But Obama said that "changes in behavior" by Iran should be met with gestures by the United States, beginning with possible membership in the World Trade Organization.
"We are willing to talk about certain assurances in the context of them showing some good faith," he said. "I think it is important for us to send a signal that we are not hell bent on regime change, just for the sake of regime change, but expect changes in behavior. And there are both carrots and there are sticks available to them for those changes in behavior

Not that is such an honor or priviledge, but to offer trades for good behavior when none has existed seems to be a bit backwards...it’s like telling your son who’s selling crack to the neighbor kids that he can have a huge allowance if he stops selling crack when you know he won’t stop and you still give him the allowance...

There is a problem with Obama being an apostate Muslim as viewed by Muslims and being Pres. of the US. If Pres. of the US, overtures will be made for him to convert back to Islam or grant special consideration to Islam in its stead in view of his childhood status. The Muslim Brotherhoods’ CAIR will be right up front. Very dangerous for US. According to Islam ‘once a Muslim, always a Muslim’ with death if reconversion is not accomplished if they get their hands on the converted person. In Islam, escape is not possible..an escapee is an apostate, and his condition is punishable by death according to and practiced by the implementers of Sharia law. Rony extrapolates further, that Obama at one point had to change his religion if he ever intended later to run for the office of President of the United States because America would never elect a Muslim to the be President of the United States.

Obama has stated a empathy for the cause of Hamas in the past two years publicly, and, now says he will ‘talk’ with Iran..do I trust such a proposal at this time? No.Is his Islamic background Sunni or Shiite? It is relevant to those in Islam who would befriend him or attack him politically or otherwise. His middle name is Hussein. We hear Hilary Rodham Clinton all the time...Barack Hussein Obama will not appear until after the election. He is too entwined by history, registered Islamic youthful education and identification to be safely elected as an official of the US. Could he convert, if acclaimed apostate, to ‘save’ his life from death sentence after election to the office of the Pres. or VP? Anyone in the US has the right to choose any religion one wishes. A conversion during a Presidency would be disruptive.
