Two years ago....I went to a interview with the Frankfurt embassy. I am a 22-year Air Force retiree, with two bachelor degrees and three associate degrees. The job would have been a $20k pay-cut for me but closer to where my wife wanted to live. I made it to the final interview and thought I had this almost wrapped up. Two of the three interviewers were fairly easy and I knew I had plus points...but the old liberal arts gal tossed pointed questions that indicated that they really didn’t want ex-military. In the end...I didn’t get the job. I spoke to a CIA guy later, who indicated that most of the state department is anti-military. I know various comm contractors who are retired military and working for the state department...who say the same thing. They have various ways to weed out the applicants and ensure they don’t get the “right” type of personnel. What surprises me is that most of the CIA is pro-military and don’t have any issues except no foreign born wives
Sorry, bub. But three strikes and you're out. < / sarcasm >
