My cousin's son is graduating from Marine Corps boot camp in San Diego on November 31. She (my cousin) is going to attend the ceremony (traveling from Milwaukee, Wisconsin) but has just found out that the base Billeting accommodation is all booked up. She is on a fairly tight budget. Does anyone out there have any suggestions as to where she could put up inexpensively for November 30 and 31?
Um, do you mean Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, because there isn’t a Nov. 31.
November has only 30 days. Graduation at MCRD should be scheduled for Friday 30 November.
Sorry; you are both right, I am having a rough week and had a “brain fart”!! The days she will need accommodation are November 29 and 30, instead. Apologies!
Could you change the dates in the title to November 29 and 30, please?
Rubish! Who cares about the exact dates, this person is trying to help someone go to a Marines graduation, all this talk about dates is garbage! Can you not figure that out?!?! Or do you have nothing better to do than nitpik?
Try posting on the California thread here on FR. Think someone will help you out locally.
Don’t yell at them, I should have been more accurate when I posted. My fault.
Right, have gotten some good info via Freepmail already, will also try that if the suggestions don’t pan out.
Thirty days hath September, April, June and November...
See my Post #5. Trying to fix it.
I would think that if they can find a place we ought to be able to take up a collection and help pay for it - sounds like a good cause and considering the time of the year - I’ll kick in $25.00. If we can get a few more people we should be able to do it. Just tell me where to send a check.
STFU, pogue. Attention to detail is a hallmark of the Corps and that’s something a nonhacker like you wouldn’t know.
That’s really kind of you; however... the cost will be possible for her to manage as long as the rooms don’t run more than about $75 per night, max. That is the price range we have in mind.
LOL!! Nice smackdown.
Please pull this thread, I appear to have inadvertantly stirred up a hornet’s nest by mentioning incorrect dates in the title.
Looks like ya got some good info. Here’s to good weather.
I did Graduation there 35 years ago at MCRD San Diego, Oct. 11, 1972, Series 2081, wish the new Marine the best for all of us and Godspeed.
That’s it. I’m out of here.
No need. You’ve afforded Greystoke the opportunity to offer a humble apology. Perhaps he/she/it will exhibit better judgment and seize that opportunity.
