Crystal Cathedral
It's an all-star conference set for the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, Calif., Jan. 17-19.
Former President George H.W. Bush will speak.
Chuck Colson will make a presentation.
Larry King will be there.
Rupert Murdoch will address attendees.
Ben Stein will appear.
And Kay Warren, wife of Saddleback Church mega-pastor Rick Warren, will join Robert Schuller, the white-haired, bespectacled purveyor of "possibility thinking."
What could such a diverse group have in common? What's the topic?
Well, it's a little vague.
It's called the "Rethink Conference," and Schuller promises 30 "Aha!" moments from the 30 different speakers confirmed for the event.
Not everyone is thrilled about this meeting of the minds. Some, including Christian author and former New Age devotee Warren Smith, suspect an agenda to subvert the church to take the focus off biblical truth and absolutes.
"From my perspective as a former New Age follower, I believe that Robert Schuller's mission has always been to 'rethink' and 'change' biblical Christianity into something 'new' as in New Age/New Spirituality," he says.

Crystal Cathedral conference accused of twisting biblical Christianity
Hey!
Even Evel Knievel is gonna be there!
Christ established his Church on Earth to change people's lives; not change itself to suit people's lives.
I was never fond of Shuller’s style, he always played on the emotions.
If you really know where things are going, are you really sure you wanna get there first?
Sure...if your salvation is unimportant to you.
Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect
I completely agree with Mr. Smith's statement above. This is not a diverse group at all, their intention is to destroy the church as we have known it. Their intention is to destroy the religious right. These people are all global elitists & that ain't a good thing.
Evel Knievel is not a global elitist!
The idea of this conference couldn’t be anymore vague. WTH are they going to discuss?
Ben Stein is one?
That would be a good guess.
Well I guess we will have to wait and see what is being "rethought". We are told the whole world will wonder after the 'instead-of-christ' except for the elect. Most do not even know who the 'instead-of-christ' is. Some do not think they will get left behind when the 'instead-of-christ' gets tossed upon earth. Then again this maybe an election year play to get out the vote. Could be an anti-war rally or a global warming crusade.
Unfortunately, many who proclaim themselves Christian fail to recall these passages in their quest for the ‘big tent’ philosophy of Christianity.
They will get their due in the end. And I believe it will be quick and substantial. After all, they’re subverting others into a mock Christianity. So sad for those subverted; so despicable for those who subvert them.
Robert Schuller, as well as the many other “Word Faith” Ministers teaching the Gospel of Success, the “Gospel of Positive Thinking”. have been leading people astray for many years.
Here is a quote of Schuller, “If you lead people to believe that by the power of their mind they can become rich and change their life, and if in fact that doesnt happen, not only are they going to feel frustration but also more guilt for not having enough faith”.
I have heard for myself out of the mouth of one of our Seattle area Word Faith ministers, Casey Treat, say this, “The more rich you are, the more blessed by God you are.” and then he went on to say that if you are not rich, if you are struggling with your finances, you better examine your relationship with God.
Exactly, and worse - they are telling all the world the biggest lie of all - that all ways, all roads, all gods, all paths lead to God. The eternity that they are leading/pointing them to is an eternity in hell with satan and his.
