they consider themselves “gods-in-embryo”...

You should read more of the history of Christianity. Early Christians, particularly Eastern Christians, believed that the process of salvation was essentially the divinization of man.

I don't think the early Christians believed that they could become exalted as a god, have spirit children, and become god of their own race of people living another world.

Pick a creed... any creed. My Theology professor at the Baptist College I attended seemed to prefer the Nicene Creed. It and similar documents were meant to provide a succinct definition of the fundamentals of Christian belief.

They were called Gnostics, and they were heretics. They were drummed out of the Church in the 1st Century. The Gnostics were screened out of the early church by a series of questions that morphed into what we call, "The Apostles Creed."

And no, a devout Mormom cannot say the Apostles Creed without exploding, theologically-speaking.

Mormons are not Christians. Joseph Smith and Brigham Young both believed that Christianity was an abomination. Well, we haven't changed our doctrine since the 19th Century, so it puzzles me why Mormons want to embrace us now.

I think you should read the church fathers broncobilly before you characterize what they say to others. Which of the church fathers have you read?
