There is a excellent book on the bookshelves titled Mass Exodus by Carlos Perez (SgtMaj USMC). Though it is written from conversations with his father, it can be realted to real life exploits. Support this fine American!
Mass Exodus: The Story of an Illegal Immigrant
Carlos A. Perez
An impoverished illegal immigrant, a San Diego sheriffs deputy, a drug trafficker, the daughter of a Mexican diplomat, a radical political talk show host, and the Mexican secretary of national defensewhen destiny brings these lives together, the United States of America is forced to mobilize and deploy its military along the U.S./Mexican border in order to protect its interests.
The country of Mexico is then strained by their responsibility to hold back the mass exodus of millions of Mexican people that have made their way to the major border cities to protest the brutal beating of a Mexican hero.
Ultimately, for the first time in recent history, the United States and Mexico are brought to the brink of military conflict.
Marines can read and write? Learn something every day.
This is just one book. We have a sister Marine who has one in the bidding wars right now. More to come!
Those men and women are in the Army with proof soldiers can read and write, matter of fact, if you count heads, several of them can.
BIOYA, pogue.
