The Talk Shows
Sunday, October 28th, 2007
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): First lady Laura Bush and Gov.-elect and Rep. Bobby Jindal, R-La.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., presidential candidate.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Guests: Sens. Carl Levin, D-Mich., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. and Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., presidential candidates.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Nabi Sensoy, Turkish ambassador; Mohamed ElBaradei, International Atomic Energy Agency chief; Sens. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and Trent Lott, R-Miss.; former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark., presidential candidate.
Hunter’s been bashing the Bush administration, Homeland Security and the military for not having military helicopters up fighting the fires from day one. No doubt that’s why he got the invite.

Thanks! I knew it was something like that!
Naturally, there was multiple Free Republic threads on this (LOL).
Anyway, it was pointed out how the whole thing looked scripted by Clinton as a kind of “Sister Soulja” incident to make the Hildebeast look more moderate.
Worth considering, at least.
So Gerald Ford did not think that Reagan was a competent president. Well, so much for Ford’s opinion of anything.
Don’t put too much thought into that guy’s comments. Ford only died less than a year ago. There are people out there that are trying to rewrite history at the first chance without Ford getting a chance to respond to and/or correct them.
Bob Woodward did this same sort of thing a day or two after Ford died, said “well, he opposed the war in Iraq... neener neener GOP!”
Safire thinks Rahm Emanual will be Hillary’s VP choice because they are both such hawks.
cross posted, along with last weeks.
You DON’T want to know the kind of week I’ve had. Suffice it to say that this is the first real chance I’ve had to do that.
re: WOT myth democrats
Funny how they’re the first ones with their hands out asking for Homeland Security and other funds to keep their places safe.
Well put. To Democrats, “The War on Terror is a myth (to quote John Edwards, a ‘bumper sticker’)... that is, unless we can get some government cheese out of the racket.”
What was the scientific basis of offsetting the time change... Anyone know?
Thanks, Phsstpok.
Speaking of Richardson, in case you missed it:

(Richardson is a Clintonista btw)
You’re amazing.
Don’t get me started on El Baradei.
The basic concept is that daylight savings time pushes more daylight back into hours in which we have more activities, thus reducing the amount of energy needed. However, I would argue that beginning about the end of October or so, we start waking up in the dark and using that energy we would’ve used in the evening in the morning instead, thus offsetting any gains and rendering the whole thing moot.
There’s also a small lobby, backed by candy manufacturers, that argued the change to make Halloween trick-or-treating safer.
I used to think Richardson had a chance for the VP slot but I doubt that today. He’s left of Hillary and says things that would make Jimmy Carter proud. I still think Hillary will choose some governor to run with her, but not Richardson. Hillary will use a governor to shore up her apparent weaknesses.
