Explain his showing in the polls then.

So if Fred Thompson gets the nomination, you vote for Hillary? Or, sit out and elect Hillary by default?

Yet...FDT’s immigration proposal and other platform ideas aren’t good enough for you? I suppose Hillary’s is better.

You’re a smart cookie Paperdoll...you ought to know better than that.

Shhhhh........the polls don't matter to the naysayers unless it helps their candidate.

Didn't the rules get explained to you?

Let me clarify that for you, if you don’t mind.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_2008__1/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

“Rudy Giuliani remains precariously atop the pack with support from 20% of Likely Republican Primary Voters nationwide. Fred Thompson is close behind at 19% while John McCain enjoys a second straight day in third place with 14% of the vote. Huckabee continues to gain ground and is just two points behind McCain at 12%. This is the first time all year that Huckabee has surpassed Mitt Romney. The former Massachusetts Governor slipped another point and he is now at just 11% nationally.”

"He seems to be treating it as a part-time effort, a nice way to pass the time of day.” "

I want to see an aggressive campaign, period. If he DOES treat it passively....he's at risk.

You should be glad that I am attending a fundraiser where Fred is the guest of honor.

I am honored I'm sure.

FWIW I don't need to attend any Romney events, I am not looking to shore up or clarify him to myself, I know I can't support him when there are better Conservatives with longer track records. I am attending a FDT event here next month I think it is, because I want to and it gives me a chance to help FDT out a little bit. Call me and several well heeled folks here in Mississippi irresponsible I guess.

I know us all us Fred folks (the bulk of FR it appears) are just a bunch of gun totin' NRA bumpkins and the like who can't scrounge up enough scratch to make it to your level, or was "pay grade" the term you use. Anyways, we just have to deal with the facts our poverty level access can provide.

So enjoy your event, eat well and hearty. You have posted more than a few negative bits since your post a few days ago to many of us where you declared you would give FDT another fair shake. So you will have to understand my skepticism and my encouraging my fellow bumpkins to take what you say with a grain of salt, before and after.

That’s right. I keep forgetting those Republican candidates are on our side. Right. LOL

I was just pointing out how funny it is that the liberals(you know this is a liberal organization)still manage to use their formula of several against one. As usual they want the people they don’t want seen as tokens and they want to be seen as the power.

I don’t think they realize by that insult they appear petty and stupid; even by their own people.

They also want to make sure we know that they will choose our candidate for us.

Hughes said Thompson needed Jeri’s energy to be in with a chance of the White House. “I like Jeri. I wish she was running. We’d have a horse in the race then,” he said.

Stupid statement. Someone who's unknown except for being a former Senator's wife and with no political background. Sure.

Guiliani isn’t going to win anything beyond NH, as it is clear he can’t get true Conservatives to support him - he is the Howard Dean of our party.

I hope you're right. I get nauseous thinking about him being the Republican candidate. It makes us all look bad.

He’s in second place without campaigning a lot or spending any money. Get a grip.

Freepers are politically aware, but most of America still thinks Rooty is a conservative.
