In about 6 years look for a rise in bourbon prices as current whiskey aging in barrels is used up and new whiskey made with now high price corn replaces it.

Most guys go the gym to work on a six-pack. I go to the fridge to work on a pony-keg.

Replacing Saaz and Hallertau with Mt Hood and Cascade hops...and they think nobody will notice?

IT's A CRIME. Anyone who buys that crap twice is stupid.

Just one more unintended consequence of the ethanol silliness.

exactly right. I pray that the eventual nominee on the Republican side comes out with a full front assault on this ethanol insanity and the utter evil of the AGW crowd. The left with the help of many ignorant, weak Republicans are pushing us over the edge to Socialist hell. The is more than enough coal and oil to power the world for hundreds of years. Every other item in the news is about Global warming and the end of humanity. It is disgusting how utterly negative is the left. The left must be wholly defeated in the next election or we will have a difficult time saving this Republic.

"It's a mean cruel world. hhrrummmpphhhh
Buy me a beer (if you can afford it) and I'll tell ya all about it. ;-)

Brew your own! It's well worth the effort once you get the hang of it. You can make beers just as tasty as those you pay a premium for from micro breweries, and much better than the 'factory beer' that the mass producers make.

"Barley and wheat prices have skyrocketed as more farmers plant corn to meet increasing demand for ethanol, while others plant feed crops to replace acres lost to corn."

Big deal, and B.S.

The barley price increase translates to about 1/2 cent per bottle of beer. If that.

Bud will be in great shape - just as long as the rice markets hold...

Same price, less tasting...

You can't buy "strong beer" (above 3.2%) in the grocery store...

It's time to move...

Pinging the FR Homebrewers for this important, earth shattering knews!

As I see it there is only one way to respond to this crisis;

Brew your own

Unfortunately-this may go the way of my other hobby-reloading-component prices have gone up

The bottom line to both is they are cheaper and more enjoyable than buying off the shelf, no matter how high the component prices go. If nothing else you save on the taxes for the berr ingredients.

Or as I like to say: “It’s far better brew when you know the governments getting the screw.”

“Shortage of beer ingredients may mean higher prices”

aka: The End of The World As We Know It

(inflation on the price of meat, bread and produce...big deal...
but when beer prices rocket out of sight...that’s the basis for
a revolution in the streets!!!!)

(/sarc; to a moderate degree!!!)
