DeLay spoke highly of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul, a Pittsburgh-area native and Texas congressman who DeLay had succeeded in 1985. "I've known Ron a very, very long time -- I like to think of Ron Paul as 'The Conscience,'" DeLay said. "You've always got to have a conscience." Any one that thinks Ron Paul represents or should represent the conscience of the GOP is insane...whether their name is DeLay or whatever.

Newt was already "in charge" when he assumed House leadership, then proceeded to sell his newly elected conservatives, down the river with the go-along to get-along Senate!
None of those guys and gals trust him anymore, why should we/

DeLay almost single handedly destroyed the GOP with his endless earmarks and big spending. A big government partisan Republican.
Don’t worry about Tom though. He is raking in the $$$ as a lobbyist.

We need a new Contract where all our candidates can run a new national campaign to defeat the Lefties. Mitt, Rudy, Fred , Mike and even old John could run on it and then deal with down ticket races too. It is too early to talk defeatism for the GOP.
