I found this. It doesn't look like he's advocating statehood which would give DC two Democrat senators but he's advocating giving them a congressperson as well as adding a congressperson to Utah.

It does seem like a slippery slope. Once DC gets their congressperson, they'll want two senators.

It also says they are able to vote for president now.

You are correct. I should not have added senators to the current mix. I was indeed extrapolating the end result of this end run around the constitution. Huckabee said it just did not seem right that someone could be even partially disenfranchised. Meaning to me that if DC only gets a congressional representative, they will still be partially disenfranchised because they will not have senators. The goal has to be to open up the senate as well. Incrementalism.
