Yeah, good luck predicting even a decade into the future—let alone 100,000 years.
On the flip side, it seems to be that human beings have turned natural selection on its head in the last century or so. The more intelligent “elite” seem to have few (or no) children and won’t stand up for their culture. The poor and stupid seem to have plenty. And everyone who shows abberant behavior is coddled. If anything it seems to me that this trend will end up degenerating the human race sooner than later. There was a Mike Judge movie about this a few years ago (”Idiotocracy”) that made the point pretty humorously.
I think I caught the last part of that show the other day on cable. I’ll check it out.
It’s an intersting point. I’d have to give it some thought, but on first blush there may be something to it.
