Most of the "church goers" of Westboro are Phelps' own family and many of them are lawyers. That's Phelps' whole angle, money.

Phelps is a disbarred lawyer who angles for first amendment lawsuits by those who rob his flock of their freedom of speech or assault charges against those who take it a step beyond. They are far from fundamentalists, they are leftists to boot, Phelps is a former supporter of Algore. Their goal is to discredit Christians and to make a nice profit to boot.

I had the “pleasure” of seeing his “church” while in Topeka 2 weeks ago. We drove past it on the way to my military retirement dinner. It is a plain building surrounded by a high fence. Prominent is the flagpole with the Canadian flag on top, and an upside-down US flag beneath it. A large banner on the building proudly advertises their website - godhatesamerica.com.

I would like to counter protest theses wack jobs with a sign that reads: “God Loves You. But Everybody Else Thinks You’re an A$$ Hole!”

Some people think that WBC is some sort of liberal anti-Christian group that doesn’t really believe what they say but is just trying to make Christians look bad by parodying them in an extreme fashion to actually support homosexuals.

I disagree. That would be like saying the KKK and Skinheads actually love Black, Catholic and Jewish people because they make racists groups look bad.

I think these people really believe their own hate filled sputum. I think they are truly mentally deranged.

WBC also hates and has “protested” in general against or at the funerals of; Catholics, Jews, Princess Madeleine of Sweden, the Sago Mine disaster victims, Billy Graham, Senator John Kerry, Broadway musical productions, Fred Rogers, Coretta Scott King, the Virginia Tech. shooting victims, the Amish, Frank Sinatra, and just about everyone else in the world that they perceive doesn’t believe the same as their own little semi-incestuous group of fellow psychopaths.

They may have given money to Algore in 88-89 but wouldn’t read too much into that since they’ve since had a falling out.
